About this deal

Cunningham's cult thriller Friday the 13th with a new limited SteelBook Blu-ray edition, which will be available for purchase on May 5th.

The first Friday the 13th is the Unrated Cut, even though the artwork indicates it’s the R-rated version! It was also released on home video unrated, with many of the death scenes extended to be much gorier. Unwary campers ignore the locals' warnings and one by one they fi nd out how unlucky Friday the 13th can be.Bringing in special effects guru John Carl Buechler on to direct, the film introduced fans to the man who would play Jason more than any other: Kane Hodder. If you don’t have any of the films on Blu-ray or only need the Original 8, it’s a pretty good set, but not the best option on the market.

The Friday the 13th Collection – Deluxe Edition will be available for purchase on Tuesday, October 13th, 2020. Directed by Rob Hedden, the story concerns a graduating high school class taking a cruise ship to New York City. However, the audio selection is more than serviceable—even giving a minor amount of boost to the disco theme during the opening and closing credits. The 2D benefits greatly as the amount of detail has jumped, though the film is still soft compared to the previous films. Legacy of the Mask (1080p, 9:34): This supplement was originally found on the original Blu-ray for Friday the 13th Part 3.The reason is, like you mentioned, the gore scenes run too long in the unrated cut, and it's much more obvious you are seeing Tom Savini's special effects (which are great, of course). Entertainment Magpie Limited t/a Music Magpie is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority FRN 775278. not to the detriment of any fine detailing within -- that heighten the scene's authenticity and sense of pending doom alike. Despite a decent turn-out, the disapproval from fans was felt by the studio and a course correction was needed. And since Part V through Part VIII are the same two discs as before, there’s a lot of good stuff - but a bunch of material from the Scream Factory set was not ported over.

Picking up moments after the sequel, Friday the 13th Part 3: 3D is where the series begins to drop the ball and the formula incorporates familiar genre tropes.I have seen double-sided discs used in the past but they are quite horrible as you can only have a tiny label around the centre hole. After successfully remaking The Texas Chain Saw Massacre for New Line Cinema, Platinum Dunes tackled Friday the 13th in 2009 with Marcus Nispel in the director’s chair. After its success, a sequel was developed without the involvement of Cunningham, and in 1981, Friday the 13th Part II made its debut.
