About this deal

Graphite and MoS2 are lubricants that work at high temperatures and in oxidizing environments where liquid lubricants usually do not last. The typical use of these materials is fasteners that can be easy to tighten and remove after a prolonged period of high temperatures. The density of a lubricant depends on pressure and temperature. The higher the density, the greater the possible performance losses

Despite their solid state, dry lubricants can reduce existing friction between any two surfaces that slide against one another without requiring a liquid oil medium. The most common dry lubricants are molybdenum disulfide and graphite. Typically, it comes in spray cans where it has been mixed with alcohol, water and another solvent. These three additional ingredients evaporate, leaving the dry lubricant to do its job. You can apply WD-40 dry lube in the same way as graphite powder. Find the squeaky joint, apply the WD-40 dry lube, and then work it into the joint by repeatedly applying pressure to the floorboard. This will allow the lubrication to settle into the joint. When you’re done, you can wipe away any excess from around the area. Natural graphite is derived from mining. The quality of natural graphite varies as a result of the ore quality and its post-mining processing. The end product is graphite with a content of carbon (high grade graphite 96−98% carbon), sulfur, SiO2, and ash. The higher the carbon content and the degree of graphitization (high crystalline) the better the lubricity and resistance to oxidation. Another application is for cases where chemically active lubricant additives have not been found for a particular surface, such as polymers and ceramics. You’ll need to clean your drivetrain regularly, possibly even after every ride if you want the maximum benefit and to maintain peak performance and optimise drivetrain life. Once a wet lube becomes contaminated it can begin to cause drivetrain wear. However, they can tend to dry out mid-way through due to air exposure or the water in the lube being absorbed by your body. Oil-based lubricant Anti-friction (AF) coatings are “lubricating paints” consisting of fine particles of lubricating pigments, such as molydisulfide, PTFE or graphite, blended with a binder. After application and proper curing, these “slippery” or dry lubricants bond to the metal surface and form a dark gray solid film. Many dry film lubricants contain special rust inhibitors which offer exceptional corrosion protection. Most long-wearing films are of the bonded type but are still restricted to applications where sliding distances are not too long. AF coatings are applied where fretting and galling is a problem (such as splines, universal joints and keyed bearings), where operating pressures exceed the load-bearing capacities of ordinary oils and greases, where smooth running in is desired (piston, camshaft), where clean operation is desired (AF coatings will not collect dirt and debris like greases and oils), and where parts may be stored for long periods. Some of us may find that our vulva’s natural lubrication isn't always enough. “This can cause friction and pain, but lubricant can help prevent this,” Charlene continues. For watt-conscious racers who don’t fancy themselves as chain cookers, companies such as Ceramicspeed, Watt Shop and Zero Friction Cycling now sell pre-prepared waxed chains. You get more lubricant per millilitre with this type of lube and the increased viscosity of the oils means this type of lubricant should last longer and is much less prone to getting washed off your chain if you encounter water.

This cookie, set by YouTube, registers a unique ID to store data on what videos from YouTube the user has seen. Doing so is a challenge, though. When you ride in wet or dirty conditions, your front wheel sprays huge amounts of contaminants onto your chain (although good mudguards can mitigate the effects to a degree). From there, the only way to reset the balance is to clean your drivetrain thoroughly. As the powder of Tungsten Disulfide (WS 2) is an extremely low coefficient of Friction (Dynamic at 0.03 and static @ 0.07), Applications are limitless and can be tested with any concept. Squeaking or creaking floors are usually caused by issues with the floorboards. As houses age, or more weight is put onto the floorboards, they often move around. This can cause noises that can be quite frustrating!Condoms are usually lubricated, but with long-lasting sex, they can dry out and lube can help reduce the chance of the condom tearing. You can use any type of lubricant with polyurethane condoms that are not made of latex. However, if you’re using latex or polyisoprene condoms, avoid using oil-based lubricants as they can cause them to tear. Sexual lubricant or lube is often assumed to be reserved for anal sex, hen-party giggles or post-menopausal vaginal dryness, but this isn’t the case. Dry lubricants or solid lubricants are materials that, despite being in the solid phase, are able to reduce friction between two surfaces sliding against each other without the need for a liquid oil medium. [1] This means you’ll have to completely strip even a brand new, box-fresh chain of all grease and oil. Best practice for this type of lube is to apply sparingly to each link in the chain and wipe off any excess before riding.
