About this deal

Very thin button-down shirts worn over a tank top will also keep you cool, but do bear in mind that some insects can bite through thin fabric so many not protect you as much as you need. When you aren’t trekking through a jungle or hiking through the rainforest, it’s good to have a pair of comfortable shoes to give your feet a rest from stiff hiking boots. When you’re travelling, going for dinner at your hotel or visiting tourist attractions outside of the jungle, they will come in incredibly handy. Craghoppers Nosilife Pro II Trousers– these straight leg travel trousers are just what you need for the rainforest. They’re lightweight, feature moisture control and insect repellent properties for protection in all climates.

It’s called the rainforest for a reason. Even if you don’t mind getting wet in the heat, you may wish to protect any expensive cameras or smartphones you have with you. PrimaLoft is incredibly soft, lightweight and breathable with excellent water repellency so you remain dry, warm and comfortable, even under the most extreme conditions. Always make sure that you keep your passport safe. I always carry copies of my personal information (passport, visa and travel insurance policy) just in case I lose one of the originals. Craghoppers Kiwi Pro Waterproof Trousers– these reliable trousers are made from waterproof but slightly stretchy fabric to offer comfort when moving.

Craghoppers Nosilife Bayame II Long Sleeved Top– another long-sleeved top from Craghoppers, this one will keep you cool and protected from biting insects at night. Craghoppers Nosilife Pro III Long Sleeved Shirt– this button-down shirt for ladies in a slim fit style protects you from burns and bugs thanks to the UV protection and insect repellant technologies built into the fabric. For the full run-down of Craghoppers’ range of insect repellent clothing, Nosilife, read my full review! Waterproof Trousers (Optional)

You can call us on a normal working day on 01562 863464 to upgrade to a special before 1.00pm next day delivery if required. Craghoppers Nosilife Erin Long Sleeved Top– this long-sleeved top is easily one of my favourite things to wear in the jungle. As well as the odour and moisture control, the Nosilife technology keeps biting insects away. The moisture management is inherent in the manufactured construction and cannot be washed out, ensuring it lasts the lifetime of the garment. Because its individual fibres are water repellent, Primaloft retains much of its ability to keep you warm, even when moisture has soaked through.Craghoppers Clara II Trousers– I love my Clara trousers! The ever so slight bootcut style is much more flattering than traditional walking trousers, and these have the added benefit of being really cool and insect-repellant. Ounce for ounce as warm as down, Primaloft microfibres are similar in size and shape to down, resulting in nearly equal insulating performance when dry and even better when wet. Also, some women find a sports bra more comfortable when hiking, so, ladies, have a think about that. You won’t need a high intensity bra, but a wireless, supportive cotton bra is a good idea. A Travel Hat The jungle is not a place for high-maintenance people. Any makeup that you apply, you will sweat off (probably in record time)! Don’t worry about dressing to impress or making yourself up. Instead, accept the jungle experience for what it is and embrace practical clothing choices. You might not look like a catwalk model but you’ll be significantly more comfortable with it!

Insect Shield technology converts clothing and gear into long-lasting, effective and convenient insect protection. Primaloft Gold Active is designed to regulate your comfort level during intense activity, while offering performance without compromise in a wide range of conditions. A basic first aid kit, along with painkillers and Imodium are definitely essentials in my experience. After all, if you sustain a minor injury or aren’t feeling well in the jungle, it’ll be a long way to a pharmacy!A head torch will be needed for night hikes. With so many scary creatures hiding just out of view, you don’t want to chance disturbing anything! Tropical jungles are hot and humid year-round. The average temperature in a tropical rainforest ranges from around 21°C to 30°C. Although you can expect the jungle to be humid all year, humidity rises during the wet season. It may sound crazy to include warm items like sweaters in a list of jungle trekking clothes, but it can actually get cold in the jungle, especially at high altitudes. The cloud forests in Costa Rica are a great example of this, as I could happily wear four layers to maintain a comfortable temperature. Allbirds Mizzles– Mizzles were made for wet weather, making them ideal for wearing in a downpour in the rainforest. Though your feet may get a little sweaty thanks to the wool insides, it’s a small price to pay for comfort! Read my full review of Mizzles here! Allbirds Mizzles– These weather repellent shoes are super comfortable and feature a water-resistant coating called Puddle Guard to keep your feet dry in wet weather. With a Merino wool insole, your feet can get quite warm though in the rainforest! Read my full review of Mizzles here!

Ventile® fabrics are used in some of the world’s finest outerwear performance garments and have military, medical and workwear applications. What’s more, they look great! Insect Shield’s long-lasting clothing treatment — proven to last through 70 washings on apparel and 25 washings on gear — is a vital solution for people living in harm’s way. Good hiking boots should rise above your ankle to protect from sprains and breaks on slippery surfaces. They also last for years. My first pair that I bought when I was 18 climbed up to Macchu Picchu, Mt Kilimanjaro, Mr Fuji and more before giving up the ghost after a week of hiking the mountains of Austria.Whenever you travel, you should consider making responsible choices for the planet. Cutting down on single-use plastic is an easily achievable goal for most with a refillable water bottle. To save on space, opt for a collapsible water bottle from a brand like Platypus or Vapur. Intended for use during "battles", as opposed to "garrison" dress uniforms, the Battle Dress Uniform was used by the U.S. Armed Forces as their standard uniform for warfare situations from the early 1980s to the mid-2000s. Reminiscent of the Vietnam-era jungle fatigues, the BDU trousers and combat shirt first appeared in September 1981 in now classic Woodland camouflage pattern, and soon replaced all earlier camouflage pattern uniforms for all wooded, jungle and tropical environments. Although since then it has been replaced in every branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, the BDU trousers and shirts remain popular thanks to their construction and features, and are still used by some U.S. federal, state and local law enforcement agencies or Special Forces teams, as well as in other countries worldwide. Available at the UK based Military 1st online store is a wide range of BDU pants and cargo trousers in a variety of colours and camo patterns, such as woodland camouflage, MultiCam and Desert camo, from a number of manufacturers including Helikon. Nosilife Florie Scarf– this super lightweight scarf from Craghoppers features their famous insect-repellent and moisture control technologies – perfect for tropical climates!
