About this deal

Then the Dash Cam will be visible as a removable drive on your computer. If you go into My Computer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) you will be able to see the Dash Cam listed as a drive, usually called NEXTBASE.

The 622GW is the only dashcam in the range to feature a resolution of 4k, this allows for really crisp videos and you’ll be able to identify signs, faces and reg plates with ease. Another upgrade you’ll find in the 622GW that wasn’t features in the 522GW is digital image stabilization, this works much like it does on high end DSLR cameras to digitally make videos smoother and iron out the bumps. Below are links to step by step instructions about how to update the firmware on your Nextbase Dash Cam. The Firmware Update Guides contain instructions for both Windows users as well as Mac users. Select the Dash Cam you have and wish to upgrade Remove the SD card and press the reset button on the underside of the Dash Cam. Then turn the Dash Cam on. Please turn Parking Mode off and turn Screen Saver off as these could interfere with the test results. HD RECORDING AT 30FPS AND 140° WIDE VIEWING ANGLE - The 222X records in 1080p HD resolution at 30fps with a 6G lens to provide high quality images and footage for your journey on the road and for insurance claims. The 140° wide viewing angle ensures that a wide coverage of the road ahead will be recorded. Tbh, I have my 402G hardwired into a permanent live circuit. I'm not sure whether or not this would help with battery life/reliability.

The 312GW is the dash cam solution for new or experienced motorists who want instant upload capabilities to social media, or their insurer. Market leading thanks to its connective capabilities and ease of use, this new dawn for dash cams simply reinforces Nextbase’s position as the most popular dash cam brand in the UK. Personally I like the 202lite the best as it can last for around 50 minutes on battery power when new and uncooked, so long as you are aware of the issues at least you know what to look out for, if it acts funny shutting down with funny screens battery is getting duff usually first sign. One thing that is better about the nextbase I found was they worked with ANY sd card, my F770 won't and thinkware don't make larger than 64GB!! One of our favourite things about the series 2 dashcam range is that it’s really easy to understand. For every model you go up, from 122 through to 622, you’ll get more features or better specs.

Take your Dash Cam inside and plug it into mains power or a computer using the Nextbase provided USB cable. Nextbase’s middle-of-the-road option (pardon the pun) is the 322GW. The camera hardware of the 322GW are similar to the 222 with a 1080p resolution, 140 viewing angle and a 2.5” screen, although this has been upgraded to a touch screen. If the Dash Cam does not appear as a drive on your PC, please press the reset button on the underside of your Dash Cfam and try all the USB ports on your computer. We tested the dashcam individually over a period of time and as part of a group test so we really put it through its paces. We followed the manufacturers'recommendations when setting up the dashcam. We tested it in both daytime and nighttime. For the camera nerds, the 422GW has a better lens which has an f/1.3 aperture as opposed to f/1.6. Essentially, this means that more light enters the camera. That extra adjustment does have a big impact on the quality, especially under darker lighting. The 522GW takes another slight step up in size which allows it to have a 3” touch screen instead of the 2.5” of the 422GW. Most of the other features are the same with both WiFi and Bluetooth to use it with the MyNextbase Connect app, emergency response and built in Alexa. If the dash cam does not appear as a drive on your PC, please press the reset button on the underside of your dash cam and try all the USB ports on your computer. It also has intelligent parking mode that will monitor your vehicle when not in use and record any movements it detects. We recommend the official Nextbase hardwire kit for this to prevent your battery from draining. Plug your Dash Cam in. Ensure the cable is plugged directly into the dash cam and NOT via the mount. The 222 is slightly larger than the 122 which allows it to have a larger screen and a wider camera angle at 140° instead of 120°.

Unplug the power cable, turn the Dash Cam on and time how long the Dash Cam stays on for. The time it takes for the battery to drain will help us identify the root causeRemove the SD card and press the reset button on the underside of the dash cam. Then turn the Dash Cam on. Please turn Parking Mode off and turn Screen Saver off as these could interfere with the test results. They follow the same pattern as the series 1 range, with 6 devices covering every segment of the market from the budget 122 up to the highest spec 622GW. If you look at the options on most nextbase they have a few timer options to shut down after power lost, I know on my 402 there was a 5 minute option, trouble is it would not last 5 minutes even after being fully charged driving for hours, it is normal for the cams to get warm, I have 5 nextbase in family, all rubbish constant problems, constant repairs, constantly unreliable the biggest problem is ?, BATTERIES, charging circuit cooks the batteries, I had 4 in a year

Best option is to put it on the shortest shut down time, if it runs out of battery power and therefore can't shut down correctly it will kill the last stored segment, ie the one you need having been involved in an accident, it is the prime reason I bought a dashcam that uses capacitors not batteries, the thinkware F770, hardwired it also protects with it's parking mode. Nextbase describe it as a "dash cam solution for new or experienced motorists who want instant upload capabilities to social media, or their insurer. Market leading thanks to its connective capabilities and ease of use, this new dawn for dash cams simply reinforces Nextbase's position as the most popular dash cam brand in the UK". It boasts many features such as GPS logging, WiFi, Smartphone Apps, a 2.7" LCD screen, G-sensor and 1080p recording. Next in the series 2 range is the 422GW. This dashcam doesn’t have a huge number of upgrades compared to the 322GW, however the one that does stand out is the camera quality. I’d recommend using a separate Camera such as the 122 or 222 on the rear windscreen. You will need a separate power supply and SD card as it will not connect to your 312GW, but can be used as a Camera facing rearwards. The prices are comparable with the Series 2 Rear Cams, and if you’d like to keep using your 312GW, is the most viable option. Please remember that after this test your Dash Cam will once again need charging as the battery will be flat.On the Dash Cam's screen you'll see a menu of 3 options. Please select 'Mass Storage' on the Dash Cam screen and then OK so that only that displays on the screen. Lithium-ion 3.7V / 450mAh (approx. 30mins recording time) Battery design allows the 'Auto Power Off' feature to function in event of power loss within the vehicle. It is not intended as an alternative power source to replace the supplied car adaptor. The Nextbase 222 is the next in the range. As far as features go, it is relatively similar with no WiFi or Bluetooth so you cannot connect it to your phone. It does, however, have upgraded specs as far as the hardware goes. The 422GW has a camera resolution of 1440p, more commonly known as 2k. Whilst the camera does also offer 60fps, you will need to keep the resolution at 1080p to utilise this. Unlike the 222, the 322GW is compatible with the add-on modules, including the rear camera, rear window camera and the cabin view camera.
