AUTO, 100%, 200%, 400% ISO restriction (DR100%: No limit, DR200%: ISO400 or more, DR400%: ISO800 or more) With that said, I had trouble understanding what you mean by "usable" when we're referring to zone focusing. The "zone" is literally anything beyond the plane of focus that is "acceptably sharp" in the image, because they're, technically speaking, out of focus. (Filmmaker IQ on YouTube have great videos on this subject.) We never tire of Fujifilm's gorgeous film simulations, most of which are present in the XF10. But how does it look in our studio scene? So far I had only one worry about how I will manage to go without an EVF. What can you say about that?

Is the XF10 an upgrade over the X70? In some ways it is, in some ways it’s essentially the same camera, and in some ways it’s a downgrade. If you already own an X70 then you are probably better off keeping what you already have. If you’ve been considering an X70, the XF10 is a good alternative, but you may want to consider the differences between the models before choosing one over the other. If you’ve been thinking about a Ricoh GR II, the XF10 is a similar camera with similar features, but there are pluses and minuses to both that should be considered. As with any camera, one must look at what’s important to himself or herself and judge if the camera will meet those needs or not. Exif 2.3 is a digital camera file format that contains a variety of shooting information for optimal printing. Thankfully, image quality is sound, with pleasing colours in JPEGs, low image noise levels throughout much of the ISO range and good detail from the lens. You do need to watch the metering and auto white balance systems, though, as the camera doesn't always get things right on its own.

One thing that I don't really understand is why they all make the same 28mm FL for these compact wide angle APS-C cameras. Why not make 20mm equivalent lens for a change? Or maybe 35mm. Or both. I like the 28mm FoV very much, but then why would I buy another 28mm camera if I have one or two already? Is it just to keep the low cost, by not having to develop a completely new lens? I would really want each camera generation to have a slightly different focal length (wide angle of course, 20-35mm eqv. range). I have an x100T and a much smaller RX100. I probably won't get a x70/xf10 because it's so similar to both. But, I would love the smaller form factor. Good for: Street photographers using 'snap focus', landscape shooters looking for a lightweight photographic companion and generalist photographers that have enough experience to work around the camera's limitations.

Did the review camera have the 1.1 firmware installed? This was released last year, with the following release notes, which appears to improve AF and possibly reduces lagginess of the EC dial.... Shooting Mode Touch Shooting, AF, Focus Area, OFF Touch Function Display Mode Swipe, Zoom, Pinch-in / Pinch-Out, Double-tap, Drag Unlike the X70, which launched with a number of optional accessories including an optical viewfinder, lens hood, wide conversion lens and case, the XF10 is devoid of any official add-ons, save the rather poor quality clip-on lens cover and much better leather wrist-strap that ships in the box. You can charge but can you turn on the camera while it is connected to the battery? I want to connect xf10 to a battery( external battery, powerbank) and I want xf10 to operate with that power connected. The XF10 isn’t the only Fujifilm camera with this issue, since the AF in the top-end X100F isn’t quite as snappy as you’d expect either. If that’s the price of having such a slim lens, though, it’s probably worth paying. The X70 by contrast has a tilting screen which we personally always found very useful. Both are 3-inch types with 1040K-dot resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio.

These kinds of sensors are typically found in entry-level and enthusiast DSLR cameras, well as in many mirrorless bodies, so they manage to offer comparable image quality.Fujifilm has also removed the hot shoe from the XF10, so you cannot connect accessories such as an external flash or optical viewfinder as you can with the X70.
