About this deal

The rear of the box shows the play features of the set as well as some images of the B-model, a Pile Driver. The B -model uses the same chassis as the main model.

However, since two of these sets are collectible models of supercars and the other two are flagship models of construction machines, the distribution of the pieces between several basic categories is what matters for someone willing to broaden their building resources: Set number In the real world, deploying outriggers is very slow; however, I'm expecting this slow feature will be frustrating to some people. For this build, I was able to just open the required bags and start building. I didn't need to sort any of the parts smaller groupings and this made the building process so much easier.Build step 9 assembles the frame of the crane's superstructure and contains the main gearbox that controls whether the Power Functions drives the chassis options or the boom options. Note that there is a grey ball with cross axle on the gear lever but this will later be hidden under the panelling. Build Step 10 Part 2 of the review of the 42082 Rough Terrain Crane can be seen here. It looks at assembling the crane superstructure and takes an overall look at the completed model.

Hook up the included LEGO® Technic building sections and put your LEGO crane operator skills to the test! However, despite possible weak spots of the model, the crane is extremely robust. You can easily grab it by the chassis, by the tower, by the boom and lift it up in the air. We don’t want to conduct a drop test, but we firmly believe the crane will survive the most harsh scenarios for sure.I have enjoyed building this model. Having the parts separated into numbered bags made the building process straight forward and ensured that the eventual building outcome was error free. Eventually, an L-motor and a battery box take their rightful places. And while the battery box can be easily removed, the motor is secured with several liftarms and connectors; you won’t be able to take it out without removing a whole lot of other pieces.

I have taken a more detailed analysis of the parts inventory for this set. While there are no new parts, there are two parts in a new colour and several rare parts. The final touch is 4 building sections made with liftarms and panels. I can’t think of any other accessory that would be this simple, but would bring so much playability to the set. Lifting and trying to put any of the walls in its correct position is a lot of fun.

The rest of the pieces help complete the covering of the tower. This is where all the red Technic panels are being used. Finally, a very stylish crane cab takes its place on the left side of the tower. The crane is finally completed. All in all it took me about 24 hours over a span of 3 days to build the model. This is a solid, sturdy crane and the Power Functions operate easily and smoothly. However, they operate a bit slow due significant gearing down. Select upper and lower crane mode for complete control over an array of easy-to-operate, motorized functions. Lower the stabilizer legs, rotate the superstructure through 360°, operate the lifting winch or send the extendable boom a meter into the air! The outriggers are very slow to deploy. The price paid for their strength in being capable of lifting the model clear of the ground is that the gearing down of this feature makes it incredibly slow. Book 2 builds the crane's superstructure. There are 12 bags for five build steps. In this section you will also add the Power Functions L Motor and battery box.
