About this deal

The pads size and depth are large enough to fit most ear sizes, and deep enough to keep your ears from bottoming out and pressing against the driver enclosure. The pads are soft fabric, more dense than velour. I can wear the PC38X for many hours and not feel the need to take them off. The alternative velour pads are perhaps a hint more comfortable to due it feeling cooler on the ears. In the studio, on the stage, or behind the camera — there’s a reason professionals have turned to Sennheiser microphones and headphones for more than 75 years. Disclaimer: The PC38x and PC37x were sent to me by DROP, they did not do anything to influence my opinion. At this stage there isn't a lot to say about the standard Sennheiser gaming mic, it is getting a little dated but still performs very well for a gaming mic, but moving forward it should be improved, or at least a foam pop filter should be added to help with plosives and wind noise. The best EPOS Sennheiser gaming headsets in 2023 | GamesRadar+

The next evolution in gaming headsets: An upgraded version of the crowd-favorite PC37X, our latest collaboration with Sennheiser is more comfortable, more detailed, and more stunning than the original. Featuring new drivers—the PC38X delivers higher fidelity and better frequency response Soundstaging was a strength in the PC360, as well as the GAME ONE/PC37X, and I would've been incredibly surprised if the PC38X failed to deliver on a solid, open soundstage set by its predecessors. Thankfully, my expectations were happily met. Even in stereo, the PC38X sounds fantastically spacious, and holds plenty of air to allow objects in the virtual space to fill the room. pairs of earpads (mesh knit and velour), Drawstring travel pouch, 2-year manufacturer’s warranty, Drop + Sennheiser PC38X Gaming Headset, 2 removable cables (PC and console) See more But so long as you're not ultra-sensitive to clamp it's comfortable and gets better as it breaks in. If you have ever worn another Sennheiser headphone you will know what to expect. The HD500 series and PC37x are very well regarded as being very comfortable, which for myself it's not that comfortable, it does ease up over time. There's a surprising oomph to the bass response on these headphones, and that's not what I'd have guessed these would've sounded like before I put them on. There's still tons of that typical Sennheiser definition in the high-end, but right the way through the mids and bass there's a well-defined response.

Launched in 2020, the Drop + EPOS PC38X is the definition of an instant icon. This headset was forged in the fire of a legendary collaboration with Drop: one of the largest communities of audio and tech enthusiasts worldwide. Don't get hung up on headphone specs, they're not that useful for most people overall. But here they are. The PC38X has a wonderfully fabric padded underside which rests comfortably on the head. I initially felt some discomfort, but after a period of adjustment, I didn't feel any hot or sore spots coming from the headband. You may need some breaks here and there, but you should be able to wear it all day without much fuss.

Not one to rest merely with a good product, Drop decided they wanted more than what the PC37X provided. The PC38X was the result. While it may not be leaps and bounds better than the PC37X, it does flesh out and improve on the sound with a better bass extension, and tonal balance, without giving up what makes these headsets so good for competitive gaming. I now that sound is very specific for everyone but since you guys know a bit more then i do, i was looking for some inupts. Our five-star rated sales team have helped over 10,000 customers find the perfect solution for their business. Compared to the PC38x it's kinda strange. They are both priced the same, the HD58x is a downgraded HD6xx and the PC38x is an upgraded HD599 with a mic. Technical performance-wise they come close to each other. But the PC38x has an advantage as it's better in games. But the HD58x isn't that much better for music unless you prefer the smaller staging. So honestly overall I'd take the PC38x over the HD58x for most people

Technical performance I want to start by saying for the price it hits average to above average at everything for its price. So keep that in mind while you read through the rest. Sennheiser is known for their great headphones as well as microphones. Thankfully, the PC38X continues this well known fact. I wonder if anything has changed from the PC360 days in terms of the microphone, but regardless, it's fantastic, and should keep your voice quality clean and clear. As you can hear, just like the sound coming off the PC38X's drivers, the microphone is pretty clear, with no sibilance or compression. I don't think anyone would have any real issues with this mic. The mic sounds ok, nothing special, but it may be a little bit on the quiet side in my opinion. I had to turn the gain up +10dB through windows to be heard in discord. Pouch - A fabric pouch with 'DROP' printed on the surface. It's super soft, and large enough to fit the headset without any issues. Perfect to store the headset or taking it on the go. You know what I'd like to see? A headphone model of this headset, no mic. It would have my full on recommendation. Yes, the HD58X Jubilee and HD6XX already exist and are highly regarded, but those require and scale with moderate amplification. They're not as efficient, and aren't ideal when used with a larger variety of things like phones, and laptops without at the very least, a decent portable amp. That's where a headphone variant of the PC38X would fit in, for those that don't want a headset/microphone, and don't wanna use an amplifier. There are times I'd love to use the PC38X as a headphone (and I do), but making a product just for that purpose would be fantastic. Personally, I prefer the PC38X over the HD598, so I think it warrants attention. Just something to think about it, Drop.
