About this deal

Also if you think this is an ordinary romance of boy meets girl and they lived happily ever after you couldn't be more wrong. This will be the only time I admit I love my brother. So, savor it, folks. It’s all you’re gonna get. the details? i'm not real sure about. like i'm sure i read them and consumed, not sure if i liked them. again, i say, aforementioned gyno finger bang. There’s also that (1) scene that has everyone on their fours. Tate ends up (quite randomly) becoming Charlie’s OB-GYN after her boss basically made her have an OB-GYN. She became so desperate and horny when Tate told her to spread her legs [for him] to perform the pap smear, as well as deciding to take a bimanual exam because she was horny, causing her to have her hymen broken (she was a virgin). She ends up having an orgasm, groaning, moaning, all that. Tate keeps it professional (we know he didn't) and cool while Ms. Horny suddenly has jelly legs. Kept up the whole “I’m so jaded, we can’t be together” miserable thought. (No wonder he and Kellan were brothers)

until he met charlie, the one link to his dead brother, he chased her at the beginning to try and pry as much information as he could out of her about his brother, whilst trying to make sense of what their relationship was. once charlie found the letter that kellan left for her, she dug her way into his home and heart as she worked on the book alongside tate's dad, who was couch surfing in his house as he was a broke, drunk. the dynamic between him and his father was so funny even if tate seemed like he hated him. This is my first book by this author, and I would love to read more by her! I loved her writing style, and there are SO MANY great quotes in this book. I swear I wanted to write down a quote from every chapter.

That's how you imagine books that are so powerful and outstanding they are studied at schools to be written like? Really?? And once Tate is finally introduced in the story, Charlie already has this idea of who he is, and their first meeting doesn’t exactly help his case. Early on, in the book, we start to get more of who Tate actually is and he’s such a complex character, just like Charlie. They both wanted what was best for their siblings. And they carry the guilt of the mistakes they made with their siblings heavily. It really made for an interesting dynamic with the two. Even if they didn’t initially like each other in the beginning, Charlie and Tate were forever intertwined with each other and I think they were the only two people who understood each other’s pain. I kid you not (just look through the first quote attentively, will you (not)), when those two were in the same building, Tate couldn't keep his eyes off the girl. No reason was valid enough to stop the staring: so, naturally, he wrote the least sad suicide letter in the history of suicide letters, in which he begged challenged a depressed, broke, barely 18-year-old schoolgirl ( Charlotte if you must know) to edit and get his book (about their love story with a sweet HEA) published. He didn’t let go. Just released a little, polite grunt, then moved a few inches away from her, yanked the condom off, and tossed it into the trash at the side of the desk.

Everything about the act and the havoc it wreaked on people around him screamed unnecessary cruelty to me. Since I have no intention of writing a novel on this novel, I am not about to start arguing with my imaginary (for now) opponents who would want to fight my stance and defend Kellan's case by saying that he prolonged his existence only for the sake of Charlotte's safety. If she really had suicidal tendencies, his death could have easily damaged her beyond repair, considering the way he'd been feeding her with hope for a few years. Maybe if Bastiano knew who she was, he would’ve just stayed away. He would’ve stayed loyal to his family, his life, his duty. But he didn’t. So he fell in love with Ariana De Luca. The help. A De Luca. A woman that is as talented a spy as she is in bed. A twisted beautiful traitor with a tongue that’s sharper than whips. She is the daughter of the mafia boss for the De Luca crime syndicate. And he’s Romano royalty.

From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ashley Jade comes an edgy, enemies-to-lovers standalone romance about mistakes, forgiveness, and second chances. Parker S. Huntington is a stay-at-home dog mom from SoCal, where she discovered her allergy to rain. In spite of her shoddy attendance record and strong aversion to homework, she earned a B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of California, Riverside and an A.L.M. in Literature from Harvard. When she’s not writing or exchanging food pics with her friends, she’s binge-watching an unhealthy amount of Netflix while curled up with her dogs. Darling Venom” is the first stand alone novel and was released in the year 2021. Charlie’s first love ended with tragedy, while her second started with his brother. Charlie was never supposed to be up on the roof that Valentine’s Day. Neither was school designated freak, Kellan Marchetti. They met each other while on the verge of ending their lives. Somehow, the tattered strings of their tragedies tangled up and tightened into quite the unlikely bond. Charlie as a character was so ... bland. Mel and I were trying our hardest to get our three combined brain cells to work to come up with 5 things about Charlotte and that’s what we have: 1. she looks like some emo anime girl 2. her sister Leah rescued her from a burning house 3. uhm... uhm... uhm.. she is a voyeur??? Nevertheless, Darling Venom explored some very complicated relationships between siblings and parents. Charlie had the longest, most frustrating and painful journey with her sister. Tiny moments felt so revolutionary once they finally took their first steps towards reconciliation. Leah let Charlie pin her hair😭😭🥺.To begin my descent into hell, let me enjoy first refilling my memory with the brightest moments of this book!! Charlotte Richards has been through her fair share of heartache and tragedy to last her a lifetime. Her emotional scars will never heal in the way that she wants it to and existing feels like a burden most days. When a chance encounter with a classmate changes her perspective on what was supposed to be the worst day of her life, Charlie makes a pact with her new friend. Little does she know that one handshake and a spoken promise is going to change her in ways that she’ll never see coming. ps - if you need help, please do not hesitate to reach out to your family, friends, and even your goodreads friends. this is probably the nicest most welcoming community ever so please if you need to vent/ or are feeling down, having dark thoughts reach out. I WILL ADMIT that I definitely felt a lot in this book, especially for Tate and Leah. Maybe it’s just my “oldest sibling syndrome” haha 😅 I was obviously really frustrated with how Leah acted for a majority of the novel, but I felt like it made sense given what happened. I thought both Tate and Leah’s guilt and pain were really well written Tate and Charlotte's chemistry was keeping me on edge and the writing flowed (but their sex scenes except the ob-gyn one were mediocre).
