About this deal

We have added data for RAL, RLM and Federal Standard color codes into the options, Select them from the "Convert From" table. If you have other paint codes you want to convert from then get in touch and let us know My Number 1 rule for airbrushing- DON'T OVERTHINK IT! It's paint, art if you will, not a chemistry experiment. Work out what works FOR YOU and roll with that - if you're one of those people who need 'exact', you may need to learn to chill a bit and just play. It's a tough thing to do (I speak from experience), but it's the only way you'll manage to get a good result. The Tamiya Incorporated brand was founded in 1946. It inherits the name of its founder: Yoshio Tamiya and is based in Shizuoka. The Japanese company specializes in construction sets for RC modeling . It has 4 subsidiaries and 60 branches. Its network extends to Hong Kong, the United States, and Germany. What are Tamiya's specialties? Tamiya is a Japanese brand founded in 1946. She is involved in the design and marketing of radio-controlled electric vehicles. All you have to know about Tamiya Who is the Tamiya manufacturer?

I also use Alkan and vallejo acrylics thinned with UMP(Ultimate Modelling Products) thinner which also give excellent results. After stopping to wash my sprues to test out how the paint would go down I discovered that it was a waste of time, I've never had a problem. The only time I'll use alcohol to wipe down is if I've manhandled the model excessively. I do like to use Mr Hobby surface primer but I don't use it as a preparation paint although its very good for that but rather as a technique to fix small imperfections in the plastic or my assembly. They also have a comprehensive line of weathering kits, tools and materials including cement, putty and filters. The company has been very successful over the last few years with global growth of 40% selling more than 200 million units worldwide which show the popularity of Tamiya's products. To start off, Tamiya products are easily the best in the business. Their attention to detail and accuracy is very unique and differentiates them from other brands. Their paint line includes metallics, enamels, acrylics, water based paints, primers, reducers among others. I use UMP/Stynylrez primer and mostly Tamiya or Mr Color thinned with Mr Color Leveling thinner with little or no issues.

Reviews

Ease of Assembly: Tamiya model kits are generally well-engineered and designed for ease of assembly. This makes them a great choice for beginners and those who are looking for a more straightforward building experience. UK Importers ,wholesalers and distributors of plastic model kits, jisaw puzzles, board games, embroidery, paints, tools and glues.

The tamiya bomb paint match: Specially dedicated to plastic models, it has a wide selection of colors of very good quality. High Quality: Tamiya is known for producing high-quality model kits that are accurate, detailed, and well-designed. Their kits often come with a high level of precision, which makes them appealing to serious modelers and collectors.Variety: Tamiya produces a wide variety of model kits, ranging from military vehicles to racing cars to aircraft, and everything in between. This means that there is something for every type of modeler, regardless of their interests. Tamiya 10ml Acrylic Paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins and are excellent for either brush or spray painting. Quite a few variations in methodology here as is to be expected. Any issues with airbrushing are very simply based on just a few variables, 1 paint thining ratio, 2 air pressure and ambient temperature. I think my biggest discovery is not to follow any particular recipe. Now I only use Mr Color paints and with these I have used all sorts of thinners and they all work but with major caveat. If you don't adjust air pressure accordingly then your going to run into strife. Depends on the thinner, with water/ IPA 1:1, with MHLT 1:2 paint:thinner. This is only a guide as I never measure my ratio's for paint thinning I always base my thinning based on what comes out of the airbrush. I also really like Lifecolor. Never go anywhere near it with Mr Levelling Thinner. That is just asking for trouble. I use their thinner or a little water with a touch of flow aid. It also sprays beautifully thin. The point about paying for the premium branded thinner sold by the manufacturer is also so correct. The other thing is a fastidiously clean airbrush (if you spray) between changes. No hint of the previous chemistry.

Recently, this week, I've started using AK Xtreme "metallics", I've not needed to thin these but being non-acrylic, I've no idea if their lacquer or enamels. RC vehicle enthusiasts will appreciate the return of the famous Tamiya grasshopper. More revolutionary than ever, this new model to mount appeals to both beginners and nostalgic for the first version. Indeed, two versions are now marketed, including the grasshopper and the grasshopper II. Tamiya Paints dry in about 10 minutes and can be applied evenly and easily on plastic models. They are specially formulated for use on styrol resins, styrofoam, wood, plus all of the common model plastics. I've only used Gunze thinner (Mr. Color Leveling for the record) with Tamiya and Gunze acrylics, which I understand are acrylic lacquers. Works beautifully for me, as do cellulose/lacquer thinners from the DIY store. X-20A and isopropanol also work well. One of the most common products from Tamiya available online is paint. This Japanese manufacturer produces a wide variety of acrylic and enamel paints that allow model makers to achieve virtually any finish for their creations.
