Saturday, May 6. The 48 Social Club will be open from 11am. There is a parade round the town where all members are invited along. Parade leaves the hall at 5pm. ‘The Prodclaimers’ will be entertaining in the club afterwards where this is open to anyone to attend.
This Wakefield pub is taking Coronation fever to a new extreme with a non-stop coronation party providing a weekend full of events and activities for the family from 5 May to 8 May. The church is holding a special Royal tea party on Monday, May 8. There will be lots of activities for all ages, including raffle prizes, tombola, bouncing castle, face painting, craft corner, and design your own crown. Entry is free.

The King and The Queen Consort will be crowned at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, 6 May 2023. The Coronation service will begin at 11am and will be live on national television and on big screens in Hyde Park. With that in mind, perhaps choosing a different scheme altogether may be preferred. A traditional British pub garden is opening up in the heart of the Covent Garden Piazza, specially for the King’s Coronation. Art installations, special Coronation-themed menus and street bunting will be laid out for the occasion. There will be daily entertainment too, and the garden opens early from, 21 April so you can pop by another day if you’re busy on the actual Coronation. Decorations will extend from the Market Building in the centre of the Piazza right down to the Seven Dials and there will be specially commissioned street art to wander past. From 21 AprilThe Coronation concert will be captured by Shana Pagano Lohrey, another former pupil of the Royal Drawing School. She will capture the crowds, atmosphere and ambience of the event as well as sketch some of those performing. You can enjoy delightful afternoon teas over the Coronation weekend from Phoebe’s Pantry in Compass Gardens or The Hive Café in Oaklands Park. All three locations will host live music (think steel pan drumming!) and children’s activities including face painting, storytelling and crown making workshops. Families can bring a picnic and enjoy these spaces together. The group has an indoor and outdoor area but weather will dictate which areas are used, running from 10.30am to 1pm. If you want a nice even surface on which to create the flag or your child's skin is dark, applying a white base coat can help it show up more vividly and stand out more.
