The Wave devices send in data every 5 minutes. Radon data (24 hour rolling average) is sent every hour. If you actually want a device that also cleans your air, you'll have to pay considerably more for an air purifier - typically, twice as much as the cost of the View Plus. The Airthings device is already not what you'd call cheap, so it's another major financial step up to get something that also scrubs the air clean, such as the Prosenic A9, Aura Air or Dyson Pure Humidity+Cool. Pull the battery tab on the device and follow the in-app instructions to connect the device to your smartphone and your WiFi. You can also power your device using the supplied USB cable. There may be a firmware update when you start the device. I went into this review of the Airthings View Plus mainly interested in the radon levels in the upper main level of my home, but I’ve learned about how certain other appliances in the main level of my home can affect air quality. For example, I’ve noticed that when I cook using my gas stove which is on the main level of my home and very near where the Airthings View Plus is located, the View Plus will sometimes report higher levels of CO2, PM (particulate matter), and VOCs. And no, I’m not burning my food! I’m a good cook 🙂 (usually). The point is that many things can affect the air quality in your home and the Airthings View Plus gives you the information that you need to make changes (if needed) to improve the air that you’re breathing. I’m a big fan of their products if you can’t tell. You are not close enough to the Wave device or there is wireless interference. Keep your phone less than 1m / 3ft away from the Wave device and search for the device again.
