About this deal

There are currently six books in the series but I am sure there will be more - these are brilliant stories for kids who love travel, action, a mystery to solve and an all-round brilliant adventure! These are fun, action-packed adventures in the style of a modern Agatha Christie for a 8-14 audience.

There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. Ignoring the fact that it should have been introduces way earlier in the series, we find out Uncle Nat has a partner? Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do.

She works as a freelance Digital Media Producer for clients such as the National Theatre, and Harry Potter West End, and previously worked as a Senior Digital Producer at the National Theatre, the Royal Opera House and Shakespeare’s Globe. I was at my last school for 4 years and we had ********* book fairs every term – and every term, I was disappointed by the narrow range of books.

The Arctic Railway Assassin can be read as a stand-alone novel, or enjoyed as part of the award-winning Adventures on Trains series written by M. Then again, there’s another, unexpected helper, who turns up on her hunch that something is seriously wrong for Hal and his uncle. My 10 year old recently got a children's Kindle with Kids+ Unlimited free for a year and the Adventures on Trains series was included - apart from this book.

Like usual you suspect the wrong people at first, and I was convinced that some things that were important to the plot were totally irrelevant. A thrilling and hugely entertaining adventure story' – David Walliams on The Highland Falcon Thief , the first journey in the series.

This sixth instalment is another whistle-stop ride through snowy landscapes - perfect for the wintry season. The adults are still doing their best to protect Hal, as is the duty of care any adult has to a minor, but he's never belittled or babied. Whilst reading, the book was so quick paced and raring to go, I felt I had to read quick to keep up. Harrison and his Uncle Nat go on a train holiday together, in this case to see the Northern Lights, and they end up embroiled in a mystery involving the train passengers that’s to be solved. If you're a fan of middle grade, then you can't go wrong with these books - there's something in there for everyone, and the true sense of adventure is outstanding. It is an easy, engaging read, but for me fell slightly flat by not really giving the reader a chance to solve the mystery first from clues in the story.
