Sure, the film gleefully fulfills its basic expectations with cleverly-executed moments of over-the-top death and carnage perpetrated against a cast of Darwin Award winning rubes. There’s still plenty of life left in the Blu-ray format, and it’s more than adequate to give a film like Cocaine Bear the consideration that it deserves. The bear (all CGI) looks about as realistic as we’d expect, but the additional detail in this Blu-ray seems to give it an extra dose of life. The shades of green in the tree leaves surrounding the forest look amazing and give the image some depth.
