About this deal

Aside from the named characters it appears the Psychomancer is the best Cryptek, by far. With the way the new edition is set up, table control is everything and the Psychomancer can do some real nasty shenanigans to help you control...you know the thing. Our goal is to build upon and consolidate the great work already being done by other community members across various forums, reddit threads, and hobby blogs, and bring together a comprehensive library of all these useful Build Instruction booklets. Only now they stalk from the shadows once more, released from exile by anti- Chaos protocols put in place against a breach from the Immaterium of cosmic scale, a breach like the birth of the Great Rift.

Here are some key points to remember when reading this Primer, mainly to save it being typed out every time. Don’t forget that this presumes you have the Codex, so things like Tesla or Gauss, which are explained in there, won’t be repeated here.

Assembly Instructions for Psychomancer – Warhammer 40’000 (40K).

Reanimation Prioritisation- When a unit is shot at, you can move a nearby CANOPTEK REANIMATORS beam to that unit. It’s easy enough to circumnavigate the Reanimator as it is, and whilst this helps offset it slightly, a good opponent just adjust their shooting to other units. And at 2 CP, it’s a big ask on an already mediocre unit. Disintegration Capacitors- A units’ Gauss weapons automatically wound on a 6 to Hit. Useful on any unit with Gauss, to reduce wound rolls and increase reliability, or help to overcome higher toughness. Warhammer Community: Get a first look at this year’s exclusive Store Anniversary models (Posted on 04/01/2021) (Last accessed on 4 Janurary 2021) All Crypteks possess a level of genius that makes the finest minds of Humanity appear drooling simpletons by comparison. The Technomandrites are the most inventive of them all. Judgement of the Triarch- Get +1 to Hit in a Phase for a TRIARCH unit, be it Praetorians or Stalkers. Useful for both Ranged and Melee, and cheap to use to enhance the killing power of either unit.

X+++, or ‘shrug’, ‘Feel No Pain’ or ‘Ignore Damage roll’ depending on how you’re feeling, means it is a dice roll to ignore each point of damage, which is taken after any failed saves. The Chronomancer’s Cryptek actions are a buff for a friendly operative which gives them an invulnerable save equal to their armor save, the ability to drop a nanomine that can slow an enemy, and the ability to boost a nearby operative by giving them extra movement and a 5+ roll to ignore incoming wounds. Example: Matts army is led by an Overlord (a NECRONS CHARACTER), and every model in it is from the same dynasty, therefore he must assign command protocols. He selects the following, writing them down on his army roster: Veil of Darkness - With a simple wave of its skeletal hand, the Cryptek can summon a billowing sheet of almost tangible shadow, enveloping it and nearby allies before disappearing along with the enshrouded Necrons. When the darkness ebbs, the Cryptek and his comrades have disappeared, only to rematerialise some distance away. Accomplished psychomancers are amongst the most keenly retained of all Crypteks due to their command over the powers of the mind.Any of the rules discussed below apply only to NECRONS models with the same Keyword , so no overlapping or crossing of Auras (no NOVOKH Auras or powers affecting SAUTEKH units, for example) The Nightbringer: Gaze of Death- Roll 3D6 for a single enemy unit within 9”, inflicting D3 Mortal Wounds for each 4+. Could do nothing, could one shot Bobby G. More likely, should result in around 2-3 Mortal Wounds, enough to soften up a unit if not outright kill them when combined with another power. Phase Shifter [3 EP] (1 Per Team) – Gives your Cryptek a 4+ invulnerable save. Helpful for keeping them around, and likely to be something you take given how important they are to your team.

One or more units from your army can start to perform this action at the end of the Move Units step of your Movement phase if they are within 1" of a Hatchway. This action can be performed by any unit that is not within Engagement Range of any enemy models, even if that unit is being affected by a rule that would normally prevent it from performing actions. The action is completed at the end of your Movement phase if no enemy models are within 1" of that Hatchway. If there are any enemy models within 1" of that Hatchway, your opponent can attempt to prevent the action from being completed. If they do so, roll off with your opponent; each player adds the Strength characteristic of one of their models that is within 1" of that Hatchway to their respective scores. If you win, the action is completed; otherwise, the action fails. If completed, that Hatchway opens (if it was closed) or closes (if it was open). Navgran the Eternal - Navgran was a Cryptek in the service of the Sautekh Dynasty who was known as the High Transmuter. Cryptogeometric Adjuster- An enemy unit within 12” of the bearer at the start of their Shooting Phase can be chosen to take a -1 to Hit for the phase. A good debuff for only 15pts and flexible to be taken by any CRYPTEK , only really offset by it’s short range.

Technomancer

Rad-wreathed- A 1” aura of -1T to non- VEHICLES . A good alternative for Novokh if you’re looking at a more melee based army, helping you fight and wound most things on 3s at the Infantry and similar level, but don’t neglect the fact it is an Aura, so will be affected by the aura increasing Directive of Eternal Conqueror, making it a useful ability to have for Shooting if you can get the stars to align – tough to do, super satisfying to pull off. Photonic Transubjector- Once per turn, the first failed Save is reduced to 0 Damage. It’s not a bad choice for 20pts, but only really handy against big hits, doesn’t help them against more than a few. Better on a Chronomancer due to their built in Invulnerable, less so on the others. The Ancients Stir- CANOPTEK units get +1” to their Mv, as well as Pile Ins and Consolidates. Nice if you’re running a Canoptek style army for the extra speed and shenanigans.
