A metal eyelash curler made of a light loop handled frame, you’ll find one replacement rubber pad in the box. Instead you have evenly separated lashes that once curled, frame the eyes with longer-looking fanned-out lashes. The finger holes are perhaps a little on the small side, but we were able to get close to the lash line without pinching, with the curler separating lashes beautifully to offer good definition before mascara. The pads are soft and gently curl the lashes without nipping the lid (which, as anyone who has clamped their eyelid in a curler will know, is pretty painful) and the slightly flatter design pushes them up further when squeezed at the root. Not only is it easy to use, with no chance of prodding yourself in the eye or pinching your eyelid, but it’s straightforward to recharge too as it comes with a handy USB cable.

The bouncy pads, coupled with its smooth squeezing mechanism make it hard to pull or tug the lashes, so you always get a comfortable curling experience and you won’t be able to over-squeeze leading to creases. Experts recommend keeping lashes in place with an eyelash curler for around 10 seconds, before releasing them and adding mascara. Whereas those with rounder, bigger eyes, want a curler with a deeper curve to grab all those lashes. Our only bugbear is its shape doesn’t work well with deep-set eyes (you’ll need to stick to the eyelash curler from Tweezerman if that’s the case).

Within the curler plates sit refillable pads offering a comfortable base, so the frame doesn’t stick to lashes. For hygiene reasons, you should aim to replace this pad every three to six months, and clean it with an alcohol wipe following every use.
