About this deal

I use a bunch of different matte mediums (mostly Matte Mod Podge and Liquitex Matte Medium). Yes, Mod Podge is a Matte Medium but not as high a quality as Liquitex or other matte mediums. Mod Podge comes in many finishes, but the main formulas are matte, satin, and glossy so which one you want to use will depend on the look you are going for. Use a soft bristled brush and then sand between coats. To do this, apply the Mod Podge and let it dry an hour. Then use #0000 steel wool and lightly sand the entire surface. Do this between every coat. After the final coat, sand and then spray a clear acrylic sealer to finish. Can I use a blow dryer on my projectto speed up the drying process? Paint with a thin layer of Mod Podge on both sides, then let it dry. Then you can craftas normal. It sounds like a lot of steps, but it’s not that difficult – you just have to make sure it all dries.

Make sure you adhere it really well and ensure there are no bubbles by running your brush over top. A foam brush is good for this! If Mod Podging onto plastic, clay or terra cotta, glass or fabric, clean with warm, soapy water. Just make sure your surface is totally dry before applying any Mod Podge.

Videos about this product

Fabric Mod Podge is really tough, very durable AND it’s washable. So I always use it for projects that need to be durable – like clothing, accessories and furniture. If you are just Mod Podging fabric to letters and hanging them on the wall, you don’t need to use the Fabric formula. For over 55 years, Mod Podge has been a favorite among crafters. Matte and Gloss, the original Mod Podge formulas were just the beginning of an entire suite of formulas. Over time, Mod Podge has branched out into a variety of formulas and finishes that can be used on many different surfaces like wood, canvas, paper, glass, ceramics, terra cotta, fabric and so much more. From mugs to furniture to paper crafts Mod Podge is THE glue, sealer, and finish to complete your project. It feels dry within an hour, but I wouldn’t hang up a project or use it until it’s been dry for 24 hours. For Hard Coat, the recommended dry time is 72 hours. Since Hard Coat is typically used on furniture, wait for 72 hours before putting anything on the furniture. Does Mod Podge have a shelf life?

These werenew in 2014 and are now discontinued. This is regular Mod Podge, and can do everything that regular Mod Podge can do, but it’s TINTED in colors! This means it’s perfect for coloring mason jars and dyeing glass. Currently you can get this formula in Aqua, Blue, Brown, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, and Yellow. Wait about an hour for Mod Podge to dry before applying any additional sealer. What sealer should I use with coasters or other items that need to be waterproof? I tend to use Matte Mod Podge most of the time and then the gloss for when I want to particularly have a shine to the project. It is very fun to experiment with Mod Podge and it can be an addictive craft, so you have been warned! haha. To finish, apply a second coat of Mod Podge® and apply it beginning in the middle and gently brushing out to the edges.
