After reluctantly taking his father in, Frasier and Martin conduct a series of interviews to hire a physical therapist and caregiver for his father. Martin, much to Frasier's dismay, is particularly keen on hiring a British caregiver as a live-in, and after a short squabble, the two agree to hire Daphne Moon (Leeves) for the position. Much of the series focuses on Frasier adjusting to living with his father, with whom he has little in common, and his constant annoyances with Martin's dog, Eddie. Frasier frequently spends time with his younger brother, Niles (Pierce), a fellow psychiatrist, who becomes attracted to Daphne and eventually marries her. While there is nothing wrong with what is included, most of it is more along the lines of EPK fluff pieces rather than truly in-depth looks at the production of the series – it’s not a loss that there aren’t more of these featurettes for the other seasons. The best bonus feature is the commentary on the pilot, which in a brief period manages to convey a lot of information about how the show began and where it wound up. While it’s understandable that the surviving cast members did not reconvene for a retrospective, it’s slightly disappointing that Kelsey Grammer wasn’t brought in to talk about this show as he works on the forthcoming next chapter of Frasier’s life.

In terms of acting quality, the central cast was always strong, particularly Kelsey Grammar, at his utmost prime not just in fulfilling the role of our protagonist, but also in singing 'Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs' over the end-credits of every episode (who knew what those words were supposed to mean, but it was a great theme song! I still catch myself humming it from time to time).
