Available in either 8x or 10x magnifications, you can choose between having a really small 25mm objective lens or a larger 36mm one.Furthermore, this monocular has fully multicoated lenses that enhance light transmission delivering bright and clear images full of color contrast. It’s also O-ring sealed and nitrogen purged to deliver reliable waterproof and fog-proof performance. Vortex is one of the leading manufacturers of high-end binoculars. At the core of its business is its customers, so it summarizes its vision in three words— people, products, and promises. It develops products to meet its customers’ ever-changing needs, delivering on its promise of excellent quality at every turn. The Vortex Recon R/T 15x50 and Celestron Outland X 10x50 monocular are good options for stargazing because of their larger objective lenses of 50mm. This allows more light to pass through to the eyepiece which aids low light observations. Which monocular features are important? This depends on the activity you intend to use the optics for. Both are available in different sizes and their prices also differ from one model to the other. For birding and landscape viewing, binoculars are the optics to go for. However, they are larger in size, more expensive, and heavyweight. On the other hand, monoculars are compact, lightweight, reasonably priced, and ideal for hunting and fishing.

The Orion 10-25x42 is rugged and waterproof and features a rubberized design and multi-coated optics. It has a wrist strap and a soft nylon case with a belt loop, making it ideal for taking on adventures while leaving the regular binoculars at home. Vortex is known for making high-quality optics, and their solo monocular is a great device that falls just short of breaking into our top three. It’s available in 8x and 10x magnification, with an objective lens of either 25 or 36 millimeters. We also liked the wide field of view; 315 feet at 1,000 yards. Film & Darkroom Film Clothing Instant Printers & Consumables Ink Jet Printing Canon Ink Jet Printers Ink jet paper Service Plans & More Magnification measures how much larger an object appears when viewed through your lens. If your monocular offers 10x magnification, then anything viewed through it will appear ten times larger. Another way to think of it is that the subject will appear ten times closer. Vortex binoculars belong to a higher-end product category, so they are generally ideal for frequent users and active enthusiasts. Many of these binoculars feature proprietary technologies, such as ArmorTek, XR fully multi-coated optics, and XR Plus fully multi-coated optics. Further, many models also come with GlassPak accessories that provide additional protection for your binoculars while using them. These accessories come in handy in extreme conditions and harsh environments.Another diversion from the other models in this series is the addition of an extra focusing ring. The purpose of this is to allow you to focus your eye onto the reticle and keep it pin sharp no matter the ranging distance. Much like any Vortex optic, this easily handled R/T 15×50 delivers reliable performance in any climatic conditions thanks to the waterproof and fog-proof properties.

Vortex Recon R/T 15x50 monocularThough quite expensive, it provides an impressive 15x magnification, allowing you to see objects much closer than regular astronomy binoculars or monoculars. With its multi-coated extra-low dispersion glass, you can expect detailed and high-resolution images at long distances.★★★★

Vortex Viper HD 10x42

All Solo monoculars are fully waterproof. Using O-ring seals it provides a barrier against moisture and dust. You can’t get much cheaper than the Roxant Authentic Grip scope. But does it offer good value for money? With dimensions of 5.5″ x 2″ x 2″ and the weight of 7.8 ounces, this is a fairly compact scope. The fully multi-coated all-glass lens offers good optics, but only offers up to 6x magnification which may not be enough for some people. The exterior of the monocular is described as a no-slip comfort molded grip and it’s fair to say that this is quite accurate. It’s unlikely to slip out of the hand and it’s comfortable to hold. Additionally, its body is nitrogen-filled to prevent internal fogging brought about by rapid changes in temperatures. The 8x magnification is quite stable at hand and does a tremendous job bringing those far-away targets close by. The company has a generally good reputation for both quality and providing service. This counts for both their affordable range as well as for their higher-end quality products.
