About this deal

Color Addict is the name of the new card game from the traditional publisher ASS Altenburger. It is played with 110 playing cards that show neither German nor French hands, but simply coloured words that mean colours. Most of the time, the words and the colour of the writing do not match! And to make matters worse, there are also confusing colour blobs on the cards.

BEGINNER RULES– Play with the basic rules but use only the cards that contain the words RED, BLUE, YELLOW and GREEN (written in any colour). The whole thing becomes clearer with an example. Let’s assume that (as in the picture above) the card is displayed that shows the word blue in green letters. There is also a purple blob on it, but it doesn’t matter. Want more game tips? Here at Abenteuer Freundschaft you’ll also find plenty of family games, as well as tips for activities with kids, friends or your partner. It is a game that really gets you thinking and having to concentrate (but only works if you are not colour blind). Even though it sounds confusing once you start playing it grabs hold and you just want to keep playing. Lots of enjoyment is had with this addictive card game that is suitable for players young and old.The openness of the game also literally invites you to invent your own rules and to vary it. For example, among professional players, one could introduce the special rule that there is a penalty if someone accidentally lays a wrong card, or similar. But even though it sounds confusing, once you start playing, you’re hooked and just want to keep playing. Lots of enjoyment is had with this addictive card game that is suitable for players young and old.

Overall, I think that Color Addict is an excellent fun game. It is indeed highly addictive as the warning on the box states. A game that is perfect for children, teenagers, adults and families. To play Color Addict, the cards are shuffled thoroughly and dealt evenly to all the players. The player to go first (the dealer), takes one card from their draw pile and places it face up in the centre of the table. The cards that each player has been dealt are their own personal draw pile and they take 3 cards from it. There are three different ways to play, but essentially to get rid of your cards if the card in play has the word ORANGE but written in BLUE, players card lay a card with any colour name written in blue or orange, a card with any colour with the word orange or blue or the multicoloured Joker card: POLYGLYCERYL-2 TRIISOSTEARATE • HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL • HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL DIMER DILINOLEATE • PHYTOSTERYL/OCTYLDODECYL LAUROYL GLUTAMATE • JOJOBA ESTERS • POLYGLYCERYL-2 ISOSTEARATE/DIMER DILINOLEATE COPOLYMER • CANDELILLA CERA (EUPHORBIA CERIFERA (CANDELILLA) WAX) • BEHENYL BEHENATE • HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED WAX • CALCIUM SODIUM BOROSILICATE • BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER • ORYZA SATIVA (RICE) BRAN WAX • CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE • PARFUM (FRAGRANCE) • TRIMETHYLOLPROPANE TRIISOSTEARATE • BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER UNSAPONIFIABLES • PRUNUS AVIUM (SWEET CHERRY) SEED OIL • DIISOSTEARYL MALATE • TOCOPHEROL • ETHYL VANILLIN • ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE • ASCORBYL PALMITATE • UNDARIA PINNATIFIDA EXTRACT • TIN OXIDE • PROPYL GALLATE • <+/- CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES) • CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE) • CI 15850 (RED 7) • CI 45380 (RED 21)> The purpose of Color Addict is to get rid of all your cards by matching colours (in word or colour form) to the card in the centre of the table and there is more than one way to play. With having the name of a colour, printed in a different coloured text and a splash of another colour on the card it can get confusing, but very, very addictive to play! Concentration is key as seeing the word orange written in blue with a splodge of yellow underneath can confuse the brain. Most cards show a word that denotes a colour and is printed in a different colour. Thus, 2 colours are given and the players may now place a card on this card that either shows the word for one of the two colours or on which the word is printed in one of the two colours. In addition, you are always allowed to place jokers.

BEGINNER RULES – Play with the basic rules but use only the cards that contain the words RED, BLUE, YELLOW and GREEN (written in any colour). For beginners and for younger children in general, this is not as easy as it sounds. That’s why you can play with simpler rules at first. The aim of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards. This is achieved by matching them in colour to the card in the middle of the table. And whilst that sounds easy, it isn’t – concentration is key as seeing the word orange written in blue with a splodge of yellow underneath can confuse the brain.

Amount calculated based on the ISO 16128-1 and ISO 16128-2 standard. Water percentage included. The remaining ingredients contribute to the formula's performance, sensory appeal and stability. Overall, we thought Colour Addict is an excellent game. Reading through the rules sounds confusing but once you start playing it begins to make sense but you will need the rules handy for the first few plays to make sure it is being played properly.
