Each Gotcha Machine costs progressively more Star Coins to use: 10 for Vol. 1, 20 for Vol. 2, 50 for Vol. 3 and 100 for Vol. 4. We suggest starting with Vol. 4 since they're the most expensive. You'll need roughly 15,000 Star Coins to get every Normal Figure from the dispensers in Waddle Dee Town. This works because the figures aren't given *completely* randomly: the game gives you a small chance of receiving a figure you don't have yet even as your collection fills up. Yellow Vol. 1 Figures are most common, being found right from the beginning of the game, while the machine doesn't appear in Waddle Dee Town until you complete Natural Plains. Red Vol. 3 Figures don't appear until Originull Wasteland stages, and the machine doesn't appear until you beat its boss stage, Collector in the Sleepless Valley. Blue Vol. 4 Figures only appear in Isolated Isles, with the machine appearing only after you roll credits for the first time after Lab Discovera. Since they're the only figures found in Isolated Isles, they're technically more common than the red Vol. 3 Figures!Below you'll find slideshows of every Gotcha Figure Collectible in the game!
