About this deal

As such, the romance in Shatter Me is all very PG-13. There is no smut or explicitly sexual content. I've never been a fan of lyrical'esc writing, that with endless strains of metaphors and descriptions about a leaf or some trivial tidbit that takes up multiple paragraphs. However, I'm a bit displeased with the ending though - loads of loose ends. Can I hope there may be more? Probably not since the author's note signaled quite a definitive end - for Juliette's story anyway. Ah well. Nothing is wrapped up neatly in life, anyway.

I can’t help but laugh a little. “Why am I weird? And hey, stop calling me Addie—you know how much I hate that—”

The strikeouts took a few chapters to get comfortable with in Shatter Me & was a little distracting at first. However, the significance, importance, and absolute relevance of them become so PERFECTLY clear as Juliette's character transitions throughout a strikeout free Ignite Me. They served to show the magnitude of her personal growth, inner strength, & discovered clarity. So, please don't let the strikeouts deter you from this series! They weren't just for show! But even after all this, I still want a future with her. I want to know that one day we’ll be able to settle somewhere safe and be together in peace. I’m not ready to give up on that dream yet. I’m not ready to give up on us.

On the battlefield, it seems like the odds are in their favor—but taking down Warner, Adam’s newly discovered half brother, won’t be that easy. The Reestablishment can’t tolerate a rebellion, and they’ll do anything to crush the resistance . . . including killing everyone Adam has ever cared about. Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me series has sold more than a million books. It’s a YA dystopian series centering around a girl named Juliette. Juliette has a very unique power in that anyone she touches dies. I went into the Shatter Me series very skeptical. I'd heard the strikeouts were annoying and that the writing style was strange and confusing. Well, I absolutely couldn't disagree more! With the Shatter Me series, Mafi cemented herself as an A-list writer on my score sheet. Werkelijk prachtig. Mafi has made a name for herself as an advocate for diversity and inclusion in young adult fiction. Book SummaryThe great popularity and critical praise of Mafi’s books have resulted in numerous translations into a wide range of languages. Numerous fans attest to her talent as a writer and the profound effect her stories have on their hearts. Never mind he captures J. Puts her in jail to suffer for almost a year, stalk her in jail, tries to force her to do things, makes her believe she killed a child, corners her, wouldnt take no for an answer so she had to shoot him The only time I felt she had a little punk is when i thought she killed all the representitives. I was like "at least she did something" only for Tahere to throw this out the window in the next book This is not your average book series. This doesn’t even come close to your average book series. Think The Hunger Games but with more metaphors. Think Divergent but with more heart. Even then, even then, you are not even close. This is the Shatter Me series, and words don’t come close to describing how I feel about it. Whenever I think about this series I want to scream. Out of joy, out of frustration, out of typical fangirl tendencies.
