About this deal

In terms of performance, the Flymo EasiMow 300R had no trouble trimming a small area of grass that had low-to-medium growth. There are 3 cutting heights available and I used the highest setting of 60 mm. The larger the model, the taller the handle, with the 380R being the tallest at 1-metre. Higher handles will make mowers easier to push, as will a wider wheel diameter. And both the 380R and 340R have 16cm rear wheels — in comparison the 300R has 14cm rear wheels. Thanks to its rear-roller, the Flymo EasiStore 300R Hand-Propelled Electric Lawnmower will not only produce that classic striped effect; but will also prove easy to guide accurately and safely along the edges of flowerbeds.

All grass boxes have a robust handle that you can use to lift it from the rear of the machine when it becomes full. The handle also acts as a hook, so that the box can hang from the handlebar when in storage. You can choose from three lifting-blade widths. The entry-level 300R has a 30-centimetre blade, meaning a cutting area of 0.28m² with each rotation. The 340R has a 34-centimetre blade, which gives the mower a 29% increase in cutting area than the 300R. The 300R comes with a 30-litre grass box that will suffice for a well-kept lawn of 250m². The 340R has a 35-litre box allowing you to keep going for up to 300m² before you need to empty it. And the 380R 45-litre box gives you enough space to collect the grass clippings from a 375m² lawn.A surprising fact is that there is little difference in weight between the 300R and the 340R models. For more information on all the differences between these models see my comparison table below. Blades The handlebar will fold into two — but the real practicality comes when the machine is stood upright for storage, and the grass box is hanging from it. And the 380R has a 38-centimetre blade, with a cutting area of 0.45m² that is 60% greater than that of the 300R. This improvement in the cutting area is more efficient for power consumption, and you are going to be cutting more grass with each step taken. Comfort is key, which is why the EasiStore 300R is equipped with dual lever handles. These handles provide a comfortable grip and ensure optimal control and manoeuvrability, allowing you to effortlessly navigate your garden while maintaining a pristine lawn. The EasiStore sets a good example as a model for all-electric mowers on the market. You rarely see an electric mower of this size and price with such a feature as a roller, but one possible reason is the absence of mulching. Mulching

Manoeuvrability / Usability - The mower is lightweight and features a long 10 metre power cable for manoeuvrability. It also has dual lever handles so that you can operate it with either hand, which is perfect for households with left and right handers. Grass Box - A 30 litre grass box provides a large amount of storage for trimmings. It can be removed and emptied as and when required. With the Flymo EasiStore range, it is suitable for homeowners with the roller being a higher priority over the mulching function — and for this size of the mower, it is the choice you will have to make. The 300R has a series of spacers that the operator must insert or remove from between the blade and the motor, to change the cutting height. And this also limits the 300R’s height choices to 3, with 20mm between each. Again giving you a choice of the same lowest and highest cutting heights from 20mm to 60mm. Cutting DiameterBoth the 340R and the 380R have central height adjustment levers with 5 height settings. But, the 300R has 3 settings, and you need to add or remove spacers to the blade each time you want to change the cutting height (for me this is a limitation and therefore I would opt for one of the larger models). The weight of the machine makes it more manageable for less-firm individuals. And the roller adds to the stability when using the EasiStore. And the fact that the EasiStore is its own storage unit means that there is no need to lift it off the ground to reduce the amount of storage space it takes up. The electric corded EasiStore models are supplied with a 10-metre power cable – this applies to all 300R, 340R, or 380R models. One of the main differences relates to the size of the motor, where the base model – the 300R has a 1200-watt motor, and weighs less than 9kg. The 380R has a 1600-watt motor, which increases the total weight to 12.6kg.

However, I found a possible design flaw here. Even though the manufacturers mention you can fold away the handlebars to achieve compact storage, I couldn’t see how to do this when the wire was wrapped around it. Maybe it’s possible, but it certainly isn’t obvious. The large and non-compressible grass box’s design means that you can store it on the rear — using the mower as a stand. The EasiStore 300R offers innovative features that makes storage and transport a breeze. Its space-saving vertical storage capability ensures that even the most compact spaces can accommodate this versatile lawnmower. Additionally, the unique transport position allows for easy manoeuvrability and effortless transportation to and from the lawn. The EasiStore range does not have a mulching blade, and neither does it have a mulching plug. Mulching is good if you worry about binning the grass clippings, or local town management has made it costly to do so. If the motor overheats the safety fuse activates to prevent coil-damage, cutting power to the motor. The fuse needs to return to normal temperature before the operator can attempt to restart the machine.
