About this deal

This game is perfect for upper elementary or even middle school since younger students may struggle with the concept of making exact change. Little friends will love getting their hands on one of the four bright-colored “swatters” and whacking the flies. Whatever you want to practice with your child, be it number recognition, number sense, math facts, letters, sight words, or reading skills you can do it with this game. In Math Match, players add, subtract, multiply, or divide number cards to get the closest match to the target dice.

Learning Resources LER3058 Mathswatters, Addition

All you need to do is add high-frequency words, letters of the alphabet, or even math facts to your fly cards. Since working in math workbooks can get stale fast, this game provides a fun alternative that allows kids to learn while having lots of fun too. Here’s a post I wrote about playing this same game in Algebra 2 with the different forms of a quadratic function. I created this flyswatter review game to give my Algebra 1 students practice identifying the different forms of linear equations.

He set up test corrections in such a way that students had to think through the problems they missed. The next day, we went back and filled in the inside of the foldable with more details about each form of a linear function. This fun game is as easy to learn as it is fun to play—just grab your swatters, add or subtract, and swat the correct answer.

While reviewing for the semester test, I decided to take some of the time and review the types of linear equations. Unlike some math games, this one can be customized based on the skill level of the players, making it perfect for any age.

On the first day of this section of the unit, we only took the notes that can see in the above picture.

Another idea is to include a timer so the kids must try to swat the word before the timer (10 seconds or so) runs out! We and our partners use data for Personalised ads and content, ad and content measurement, audience insights and product development. Sight Word Swat is a Learning Resources game designed to help children learn to read commonly used words by sight. I mentioned that I decided to teach all of the forms at once this year, and I wasn’t sure if that was a good idea or not.During test corrections, students would constantly be raising their hand and asking me to help them with a problem. Made from durable, wipe-clean plastic and sturdy laminated cardboard, this set is ready to bring smart games for kids to the home or classroom for years to come. Players take turns making crossword-style equations and then adding up their totals based on their tiles played. The set I’ve linked to includes the Times Tales DVD, Workbook, Mini Storybook, and a USB with printables.
