About this deal

Krypton Decoded– The 13 year-old Clark Kent gives us a “tour” of Krypton, the home world of Superman. All-Out Action– We get a peek into some of the training that went into the lead actors’ (Crowe evidently lost 40 lbs. for his part) as well as some general information about the film and effects therein. All the other actors involved in the film played well, without interfering with the development of the plot, but only decorating it. This Ultra HD/4K version doesn’t contain any new supplements and the disc itself is featureless, the extras are from the previously-released single disc set, though the extras from the two-disc set are available, albeit from a web-based source.

One aspect inthe Supermanmythos not often enough explored for mainstream audiences is the character's desire to know moreofhis origins and the dilemma over his foreignness. From a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer — the same pair that made ' The Dark Knight' movies a success — almost the entire first half in 'Man of Steel' is dedicated to this personal struggle with self-identity. Although Clark Kent (Henry Cavill doing his best but never becoming wholly convincing) is adopted by two very loving parents (a surprisingly good Kevin Costner and Diane Lane) and raised in the American heartland of Kansas, he must cope with the fact that he is different from others, that he's an immigrant (or an illegal alien, to be perfectly honest) in the truest sense of the word, a being caught in the middle of two seemingly opposing cultures. This is a fact his parents have chosen not to keep secret from him. Although I wouldn't qualify it as a night and day difference, the UHD is nonetheless an upgrade thanks to a great-looking HEVC H.265 encode in HDR10 that offers the same extraordinary and often stunning detailing as the Blu-ray. Granted, the 2160p video comes with its share of soft scenes, but thankfully, they don't distract from the well-defined moments that show clean, distinct lines in buildings, spaceships and various other vehicles. Despite not always looking healthy, facial complexions are very revealing with excellent lifelike textures, and the clothing, especially the Kryptonian outfits, exposes every stitch and thread of the fabric. Viewers can better make out the design work that went into the interior of the spaceships while the tiniest piece of debris falling from buildings or explosions is razor-sharp and better detailed here. The movie has some flaws to me for sure ( i don't know about a perfect movie) but i will not comment about that as i believe everyone need to discover by themselves what - if any- dislike for their preferences. Jor-El, Jonathan Kent | Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner - two fathers, two different characters, but in one they are alike - for them Kal-El / Clark Kent was always the only son, their hope for the future, he led them and forced them to take extreme measures for the sake of the well-being of the future superhero. Jonathan Kent led Clark Kent all his life and thanks to this, Kal-El learned the truth about himself, while preserving his human face. Russell Crowe and Kevin Costner, as befits the actors of their level, played well, and there is a hope that in the continuation of the "Man of Steel" we will still meet their heroes.

Scores

me no room to increase that score for the Dolby Atmos home-theater remix offered on UHD, but I would if I

Man of Steel was the first for a long time a film about Superman, who collected an impressive cash register and was able to give hope for an excellent continuation. "Man from Steel" became a kind of "Batman: The Beginning" for the films about Superman. In this picture, Clark Kent still knows very little, understands little, and it is difficult for him to realize that he is not like everyone else. This film is about the beginning of the path of the most powerful superhero on Earth, which has become a symbol of truth and hope for all mankind. New Zealand: Home of Middle-Earth– Uh, ok. Either this is an error of some sort of Warner is really pushing The Hobbit. I wouldn’t consider myself a Superman “nut” but I’ve seen every big screen adaptation and I have to say that this is, by far, my favorite version. Granted it’s nice to not have the same story rehashed again and again, so it was a nice change of pace to get a different perspective on… everything. I was at first very dubious as to the casting of Henry Cavill, though I’d enjoyed him in Immortals, I wondered if he had the chops to pull this roll off. He did. While Amy Adams isn’t the best Lois Lane, I think she did a fine job here. But let’s get real – this is all about Superman. No doubt Warner is trying to reboot this franchise – again – and I think they might be onto something here. They won’t let Batman go and with 2015’s Batman vs. Superman already filming, the wheels are literally in motion. Usually I might add something like “this movie isn’t for everyone…” but I won’t say that here. This is a classic re-telling of a classic superhero that’s perfectly fit for a new generation. Not many movies that are 140 minutes feel like they go by in about 30, but this is one of them. Suffice it to say that this is highly recommended. Video: How’s it look?Personally, I love that the filmmakers would be so bold to do this — to have the otherwise seemingly perfect Übermensch(the philosophical concept that essentially inspired Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster) question his very existence in an imperfect world. This central dilemma is wonderfully encapsulated by the lessons of Clark's father and Lois Lane's (Amy Adams in a role dramatically different from the comics) untiring search for the mystery man who saved her life while she was snooping around a military base in the Arctic. When questioning her pursuit, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, editor of "The Daily Planet," puts it very succinctly and frankly, a question that in turn reveals a major flaw within us as a supposedly open-minded civilization. This, in turn, places Lois in a dilemma that complements the script's central theme. Steel, to its gradually expanding UHD roster. Unlike BvS, however, Man of Steel in 4K doesn't offer
