John Horace Tobin went above and beyond to chronicle the paranormal. He was a leading scholar on the subject. At some point before the 1920s, he published Tobin's Spirit Guide. He reportedly led a sordid later-life and went too far down the rabbit hole. As a safeguard against his work being used for the wrong reasons, he secured his first edition with a Binding Relic, a leather strap. [17] Per his wishes, the first edition of the Spirit Guide was buried with Tobin in his coffin.
