Both my children adore Sylvanian Families and I love that it feels like such a timeless, classic toy. With timetables and mirrors on the wall, a barre, a stool and a hanger the room can be transformed into a ballet studio for Freya Chocolate and her friends. It’s this versatility that make Sylvanian Families so engaging and wonderful for imaginative play. My daughter has been having so much fun with this set. As with a lot of Sylvanian playsets, you can connect the Ballet Theatre to Beechwood Hall via the connector. And once the ballet is over, then the Sylvanian Families can go to the Seaside Ice Cream Shop for an ice cream cone. Because in the words of Little Miss H:Ballet Theatre comes with a special Chocolate Rabbit girl figure wearing pointed shoes and tutu, only available for this set. Place figures on the stage and turn the handle to make them twirl. 3 figures can be placed on the stage at a time. The Ballet Theatre is a grand theatre for the Sylvanian children to have ballet lessons and perform recitals. Little Miss H and I both love the Sea Otter daughter’s tiny sea shell bag and her mother’s matching sea shell brooch. It is these little details which make Sylvanian Families such delightful and engaging toys. I really hoped that Little Miss H would come to love Sylvanian Families as much as I did. She is such a creative child and I knew that these fabulous figures would be perfect for imaginative play. But it makes me so happy to see the joy on Little Miss H’s face when she plays with it. And she adores the little bunny ballerina and her beautiful ballet princess outfit. The beading on the Chocolate Rabbit Girl’s dress is stunning.

Little Miss H’s favourite element of the Ballet Theatre is the fact that she can make the ballerina twirl and spin. This keeps her amused for ages. When Little Miss H turned four in May, we bought her the Sylvanian Families Seaside Ice Cream Shop. She loves it and plays with it all the time.
