I have to say, I’m impressed with the Ohora nail system. It was very easy to use, and the results were great. My nails looked salon-quality and lasted for over a week without chipping. The only downside is that the kit doesn’t come with a top coat, so you need to buy one separately. But other than that, I highly recommend this product! If you want long-lasting, salon-quality, nails that are easy to apply then I’d say this is the brand to go for. It’s not recommended to use a base coat of any kind, gel or otherwise. A base coat layer prevents the strip from properly adhering to the nail plate. Most specifically, a gel base coat would need to be soaked or filed off on removal, however placing an Ohora strip on top of it would make it nearly impossible to get to with the acetone when soaking, causing unwanted damage. If you want to add a layer of protection, we suggest using the Ohora Pro Nail Primer which is very thin and is designed to work with Ohora strips.
