About this deal

Yes, it is one giant escalation, and yes, some might find that it loses it's heart, but Taylor hangs in there all the way to the end, and what separates something like this from Marvel zombies is this tries to have some semblance of emotion.

Still, someday it would be great to have Taylor play more with the heroes of Gotham and bring his incredible characterization skills to those interactions and narrations. comic) Batman and Robin (comic) Batman and Robin Eternal (comic) Batman/Superman (comic) Batman v Superman (General Mills) Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (comic) Batman: Arkham Unhinged Batwing (comic) Catwoman (comic) Detective Comics (comic) Earth 2 (comic) Earth 2: Society (comic) Gotham Academy (comic) Gotham Academy: Second Semester (comic) Gotham by Midnight (comic) Grayson (comic) Harley Quinn (comic) Injustice: Gods Among Us (comic) Injustice: Gods Among Us: Ground Zero (comic) Justice League (comic) Justice League/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (comic) Justice League of America (Rebirth) Mother Panic (comic) New Suicide Squad (comic) Nightwing (comic) Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death (comic) Red Hood/Arsenal (comic) Red Hood and the Outlaws (comic) Robin: Son of Batman (comic) Teen Titans Go! This along with the talk with Damian were all long overdue character moments that left you wishing Cassie had more of these moments that would’ve made these scenes even better. He is perhaps best known for the DC Comics series, DCEASED (Shadow Awards Winner), NIGHTWING (nominated for 5 Eisner Awards), SUPERMAN: SON OF KAL-EL (GLAAD Award Nominee), INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US, SUICIDE SQUAD, EARTH 2 and BATMAN/SUPERMAN as well as Marvel's FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN, ALL NEW WOLVERINE, X-MEN: RED, DARK AGES and SUPERIOR IRON MAN. It all leads to Alfred giving into decades’ worth of held rage and summoning the unbound Spectre to him.The emotion wants to be there, but without an interesting story to anchor it it just felt manipulative.

I actually have a really large knowledge gap here, as all I have read is the original DCeased story, the one-shot A Good Day To Die, and then War Of The Unhead Gods. Alfred, who had killed Nightwing, Tim Drake and Bruce Wayne 5 years prior, was in tears, telling him that he "killed his sons". I just wish that the final villain was something that was a real threat that we were following from the beginning. Most recently, we got Cyborg overtaking Brainiac and adding those abilities to his own, and we also have Alfred Pennyworth becoming the spirit of vengeance, Spectre. I think one of the main reasons I enjoy Taylor's Elseworld comics is that I'm always surprised by the choices he makes. He somehow really is able to craft stories about these characters, in genres that usually do not hook me, and he manages to reel me in. It was a moment that reminds you that everyone is united because Erebos is this big of threat not because they are on friendly terms now. I know Jon leaves for the sake of the others, but it felt like the Spectre already hit the same beat. seemed like instead of coming to the conclusion that all life is sacred and important, like they did with Big Bartha earlier in the series, they just gave evil a face so it could be punched.

As death comes to the worlds of the multiverse, only the brave heroes of Earth-2 stand on the front lines. It's the final DCeased book, and that means we're throwing everything and the kitchen sink at our heroes, whether they like it or not. It still has distorted inconsistencies in the facial renders, generally unpleasant renders, and sparse underdrawn backgrounds. In the process they discover that the virus isn't just sentient, it is actually a being of immense power.Opening this final issue with Mister Miracle and Big Barda reuniting with their son and Clark and Jon Kent meeting their Kryptonian family for the first time was a great tone setter. Jon then tells Damian he was a great Batman as the Life Equation and Anti-Life Equation collide to create a new Big Bang. Again the only draw back is how we get from peace to destruction back to peace, it's like Taylor woke up remembered all the characters not yet utilised and got to writing this. At this point, the "oh no, [blank] got infected" twist is past the point of having the meaning or impact it had early in this storyline. We see the citizens of Earth 2 trying to escape the invasion of the Undead, and it doesn’t look too promising.
