About this deal

With Old Tom’s slightly sweeter palate, it can frequent those serves usually reserved for rum and whiskey. The nose has a pleasant, punchy, juniper note. Juniper, slight hint of raspberry jam and rose. But that’s just it— the floral notes are slight, along with a slight hint or sweet orange/lemon citrus. Pleasant, and nicely balanced nose. We’ve also included an apple gin in a past member’s box from 2020 – The Cornish Elements Box, which came with both Elemental Cornish Gin’s classic dry and apple gin, alongside a light and elderflower tonic from Hartridges to mix with.

By choosing softer mixers, you are allowing the complexity of the gin to really shine through. Mixers for navy strength gin: Put the gin, lemon juice and apple juice into a shaker with some ice and give it a good shake to make sure it’s fully cooled the drink down Into a glass with ice cubes add 75ml of this puree along with 50ml of gin and finish with some tonic. Tasting notes are great for helping guide us to the gins we like the flavour of best. While the tasting notes for apple gin will usually (and unsurprisingly) always have a dominant apple taste to them, by describing in detail the taste experience of different apple gins, it helps us to distinguish the combinations we may prefer. That’s why recommend trying London dry gins with more delicate mixers like lemonades, soda water, hard seltzer, vermouth and white wine. There are a number of different cherry flavoured gins available, offering up wonderfully sweet tastes – for example, the JJ Whitley Pink Cherry Gin offers an aroma of fresh orange almonds, its tasting notes going on to describe this initial sweetness as “leading into marzipan, sour cherry and juniper on the palate.” Another thing to factor in when considering gin as a low-calories beverage option is to be aware of the mixers you include in this. Low calories tonics, as their name suggests, can substantially reduce the number of calories included in your G&T when compared to regular tonics – 100ml Fever Tree Indian Tonic Water coming to 35.61kcal, while 100ml of Fever Tree Refreshingly Light Indian Tonic Water comes to 15kcal. Read about how many calories are in a gin and tonic. For example, a pint of cider can amount to 216 calories, while a 175ml glass of wine can come to 159. The amount of calories in 25ml of gin mixed with tonic can come to around 97 calories, however, the calories can vary from gin-to-gin. Gin has been known as a low-cal tipple of choice, its calorie count often being notably lower than other popular alcoholic beverages. I Love Gin offers a huge selection of gin including classic, modern, unusual, dry, and flavoured – and all the flavoured tonics to go with it.

Degustabox – October 2023: Movie Night

Top up with tonic water, we recommend at first trying with approx 50ml of tonic to every 25ml of gin Bring the water, sugar and rosemary to simmer in a pan until all of the sugar has dissolved, the allow to cool and remove the rosemary (keep in the fridge, it should last for a week)

Therefore, flavoured gins are not classed as traditional gins. However, the production process and alcohol content is similar in both – the one integral differentiator being that flavoured gin pushes the boundaries of the typical tastes found in gin, and offering up unique combinations and innovative new concoctions – such as apple gin! Navy strength gins usually have a similar flavour profile to London dry gin. However, the flavours are much more pronounced by the higher alcohol level. Make the vanilla bean syrup by adding all the ingredients in the above right list into a saucepan and bring to a boil, turn down the heat and let the figs breakdown for approx 5 mins, then let it cool and use a fine mesh to strain the liquid. (It makes approx 150ml of syrup, this can be stored in a fridge for up to a week) Every month we send you two miniature gins & two tonics/mixers for you to mix & taste at home! Enough to make 4 delicious Gin & Tonics, plus a recipe booklet with the perfect serves and garnishes, and info on the featured drinks. The serve recommends adding the 50ml of cherry gin to the glass, already filled with the ice, topping this up with the tonic before adding the cherry syrup and stirring this all in thoroughly. After this, garnish with the 2 cherries. The palate of Eden Mill Love Gin is creamy, fruit-laden and slightly citrusy. As my buddy David T. Smith would say (“jammy” and “sherbet”-like*). It’s a great gin and soda or gin an tonic gin as well. The citrus comes through in both. Overall, Modern Love Gin There are a number of fantastic apple flavoured gins currently on the market, two of ILoveGin’s favourites including: of tonic (depending on the gin/strength of how you like it, we recommend trying Double Dutch tonics) To make the drink, simply add the syrup, the infused gin and the grapefruit juice into a glass filled with ice, stir and enjoy.

When we came across this gin punch recipe we fell in love, not only does Sylvia take beautiful photos on her blog but her recipes are a delight to make. So if you’re throwing a party or event of sort and want to make a delicious and stunning looking punch then look no further. Add all ingredients into a shaker with some ice and give it a good shake until it feels properly chilled One Sage & Apple Gin, launched in 2017 on World Water Day, was created by One Brand as a way to combine their passion for craft gin with that of wanting to make the world a better place. A flavoured gin differs in definition from a traditional gin. This is due to the fact that with traditional gins, the predominant flavour has to be juniper, otherwise it’s not a traditional gin.In contrast, One Sage & AppleGin holds more of a wood and orange flavour to it, amongst other interesting notes, detailed as “An overall aromatic nose of fresh and candied apple, freshly cut wood and juniper, with hints of gooseberry and orange marmalade. Leads to a palate of fresh apple, orange peel and soft juniper, mixed spice and Turkish delight.” Moving onto the mixers, this month you can try Navas Garden Tonic Water; a fragant tonic with aromas of pine, wood, and sweet earthy notes from rosemary and thyme. Combining layers of citrus, it makes for a rounded and balanced tonic that suits a wide variety of classic gins. Crush the peppercorns in a mixing bowl/large glass, then add strawberries and muddle them (crush/mash), then add all the other ingredients (excluding the Prosecco) and give it another good mix/muddle.
