After a memorial service for his uncle, Red approaches James to say goodbye, and Wilder gives them each a kiss. It had all the classic Bond elements (or what I remember from the movies): an impossible situation to get out of, Bond kicking butt, a love interest (but not one he slobbered all over). He slowly recovers, but realizes that Max had yet to visit him, and Char reveals that Max had died the night after he left. The artwork was interesting, and reminded me of Mignola's art in Hellboy, but the characters tended to be a bit too cliched.The alien world of this infamous public school is a new world for him and he makes enemies immediately. Close to the end, I was so wraped up in my book, my mom had to shake me for five minutes before I became aware. During this visit, the cause of James's parents’ deaths is revealed, and James learns more about his uncle's history as a spy during World War I.

Actually, since the first half of the book was utterly boring, I would have to slice off a star again. It had been a favorite fishing spot of his father's before he had been injured in World War One and died of lead poisoning after having been disabled for many years due to shrapnel. Sanctioned by Fleming's estate, the original novel of a young Bond during his first year at Eton, was adapted into a graphic novel soon after. He was friendly and kind and was very fond of saying that he was there for the boys and not the other way around, as some beaks seemed to think was the case.
