About this deal

I wasn’t sure how I felt about this book, it was perhaps a bit wild for me – but definitely something to look in to if you’re up for some science fiction with a twist! I generally love books that take the main character out of their comfort zone (in this case, to the sunny streets of LA), and I found the book tackled some interesting topics through the various storylines. Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. Whilst her personality is very different to mine, I found parts of her journey to be very relatable and realistic.

What follows is an engaging, relatable, and heartfelt examination of what “reinventing yourself” really looks like: of how much of yourself it’s really possible to change, and what you both lose and gain when you do. I was lucky enough to hitch a ride with Rose and see all the sticky situations she got herself into. I really liked the art discussions and to hear about her touring the city of Paris and the other areas of France. We deliver contemporary Asian cuisine and handcrafted cocktails, married with exceptional service and stunning vistas. A snapshot of rural French village life throughout the year, full of insightful observations from an author who paints pictures of the seasonal changes in words. The narration wasn’t anything outstanding, but I was able to visualize the setting and characters even more so than I was with the physical book. For many years a farmer in England, John Lewis-Stempel yearned once again to live in a landscape where turtle doves purr and nightingales sing, as they did almost everywhere in his childhood. I found my focus was non-existent but I could usually stick to anything pretty easy-going – I’m a sucker for something a little Read More Our Vinyl Wall.

Subjects: Conduct of life -- Cosmology -- Divinity -- Philosophy -- Meaning of life -- Mysticism -- Spirituality. Furthermore, if those who decide the allocations of the real and unreal are cruel, mad or colossally wrong, what then? Though my life is quite a bit different from Rose's life, we are the same age and share the same feelings on family.I really enjoyed this book, the story was told from the perspective of a 14 year old which gave it a sort of blasé and impassive edge. It follows a complex family of daughters, and the story spans several generations, unveiling many secrets and scandals and a few twists too. I read this when I was particularly down one day and I found myself giggling despite feeling super blue.

Allow yourself to be angry, be tired, be silly, be passionate – to give yourself a break, and just simply be. Rose acted so dumb and naïve while in Paris, yet in America is this extremely responsible and heavily relied upon person. I accompany Rose to Paris, where she meets new people and has to differentiate between healthy and toxic relationships. On November 13, 2020, Netflix released The Life Ahead directed by Edoardo Ponti and starring Sophia Loren. As the TV series progresses, parts of the book are cited, and additionally, one of the victims of the crime series left a clue in the book to the protagonist.

The plot line was messy and the one time it got remotely away from Rose's inner anxiety spiral about everything from crazy family to walking down the street, the action was resolved mysteriously in a single chapter. I actually read this on holiday in Morocco so I had set aside time to get through it, but I found it incredibly long and at times, hard to commit to. This has Black Mirror-esque vibes, and a lot of the stories are so fascinating it made me wonder where the author’s ideas even came from! Again, that could just be because of my dwindling attention span, but while I did enjoy the art heist aspect, it didn’t seem necessary.
