About this deal

When you’re paying a lot of money for a ball, for it to last only a few minutes, then having to open another can of balls, really isn’t cool at all. The only way to know is to buy yourself a few cans, or in bulk if you’re feeling like a bargain, and give them a try on court! Although I’ve used the Wilson US Open ball a few times in the past, I hadn’t concentrated my efforts fully on its playability.

The US Open has very pleasing levels of touch. Volleying with this ball was a joy and I can see it becoming a popular choice for doubles matches in the club leagues. I've gotten a lot of coaching violations, which I found unfair. But now that it's legalised, I'm more than happy I won't have to deal with referees that are so strict and want to kind of ruin the game." Comments: They feel the best in your hand and feel even better when they come off your strings. I pretty much refuse to play with anything other than U.S. Open. Believe it or not, I’ve experienced this personally with a few, supposedly premium level, balls, but we’ll save that story for another article.

Comments: These balls have terrible durability. After one set, I lost all the fuzz on the ball. This was consistent in the 3 cans of balls I used. Other than the durability, however, the ball is very playable when fresh, although a bit light, but still good. In short, a good ball with horrible durability.

Comments: I use these balls from time to time. I've no complaints at all. I've used Penn ATP, Penn Coach, Dunlops, Prince, and Gamma. I really haven't paid too much attention on the characteristics of the various tennis balls I've used. I guess I'm concentrating more on how my racquet is, and the strings. But, I can say that these Wilson's have better durability than Penn. They are also a bit light, and they do fly. They have a nice consistent bounce, and the felt holds up. I don't understand the reviewers that say that these Wilson's are horrible. They are not! Trust me, they are just fine! I will for sure use them again. Comments: The price of these balls has gotten insane. I just tried some Penn ATP. They are comparable. Bye, bye Wilson. Players will be able to receive verbal and non-verbal coaching from the stands during the tournament, provided it does not interrupt play or hinder an opponent. Comments: I hate this ball. I had a hard time hitting consistently solid shots with ball. It seems a bit light and airy. I prefer the Slazenger Wimbledon's. Now that's an awesome ball. The regular duty balls are thinner and lighter than the extra duty ones. Wilson states that the regular balls are likely to fluff up more external-link , meaning they play faster but are "less durable" than the extra duty. The Monday Night Club discuss whether Jude Bellingham is England's best talent since Paul Gascoigne, after he was named best young player at Monday's Ballon d'Or ceremony. Comments: I've never tried the Grand Prix, but bought these balls last week and they are the best balls I've used. I'd rate the Wilson and Penn balls at Walmart a 7 and these a 10 as a comparison. Finally, the weather remained dry during this playtest, so I didn’t have the chance to see whether the ball held up during adverse weather conditions.

The Wilson US Open offered great levels of control without sacrificing the power element of the tennis ball. Given certain trade-offs, it is possible to use either Regular Duty or Extra Duty on any court surface. Players who prefer a faster ball could consider using a Regular Duty ball on a hard surface, with the trade-off being slightly reduced wear. Players preferring slower, more durable balls could try using an Extra Duty ball on a soft court surface, with the trade-off being increased fluff. Comments: The worst balls I have played with. They felt dead straight out of the can. I do not recommend them. Comments: Probably the only balls that have stayed consistent throughout the years. They don't last long and it drops off in playability immediately, not gradually. But it's still one of my favorite balls to play with in terms of the feel, playability and consistency. There must be a tradeoff when designing balls for playability and durability. Get the 4 ball cans, that one extra ball will make your session more enjoyable until the very end.

Tried and true, our Championship Tennis Ball has been a favorite for casual and recreational players for years. Thanks to its specially engineered Dura-Weave felt, this ball is very durable, holding up well against even the most abrasive court surfaces with impressive durability and reliability. If you’re looking for a solid tennis ball at a great price, the “Champ” ball is the way to go! TRANSITION OR STARTER TENNIS BALLS Regarding claims of a ball's durability; I really think that the court surface that a person plays on has more impact on a ball's life than anything. There are some terribly rough asphalt hard court surfaces that players use that will wear any ball out after one set, and there are also some relatively smooth cement surfaces that let you use the same balls for two matches. I’ve rated the ball at an 8/10 as I was very satisfied with the level of RPMs that this ball was and is able to generate. Comments: The worst balls I've played with, out of the cans they were so small and about 15 min warm up and a bit of rally, they were basically unplayable. Most awful balls I've ever used.
