About this deal

Places like the National Trust have said they’ll keep their gardens open free of charge while the crisis is ongoing and places like Dartmoor and the Yorkshire Moors are always open so there’s no excuse not to get out and about. As long as you keep yourself at a safe distance from other people it’s ok to leave the house and get out in nature. At the very least get the children into the garden every now and then (the weather should start improving soon!). If done outside, kids can get some fresh air while practicing art and literacy. These preschool insect themed printables would even be fun for older kids. Insect Sorting Activities

Whether you have a child who loves everything bugs and insects or one who is not so sure about the world of creepy crawlies, this game is for you. Directions for how to access a PDF version of the insect bingo game can be found at the bottom of this post. Skills to Practice For little learners or even older children who are interested in art, create a matching game using the butterfly, dragonfly, or ant printables. If your little one isn’t quite ready to play bingo with a 5×5 board of numbers, we have you covered. Our 3×3 bingo card is perfect for introducing number recognition and use to young learners.Although pillbugs can be found around insects, technically they are not classified as a bug. You can find them within this bingo game, but its a great opportunity to talk about why they are technically not a bug. Additional Bug and Insect Activities Marker Options: Buttons, beads, seeds, small stones, small pine cones, small wooden circles, small toy insects This printable bingo game is fun for children in preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school! A fun way to get your kids excited to learn about the natural world around them. Jump to: Combine learning about minibeasts with practising multiplication with this Minibeasts Multiplication Facts Game for KS2 pupils. Each card features a different minibeast, and pupils have to solve the multiplication questions to work out which card is the wins each round. Easy nature inspired butterfly crafts are perfect for kids of all ages. Fluttering about during the warm months, butterflies are always a child favorite.

Challenge your children or your friends to find as many of the insects pictured as possible. You can play on one day, over a matter of months or give yourself a time limit of 2 weeks to find them all. See who has found the most by the end. It totally depends on whether you have your own garden or are planning a few day trips out to a nearby woodland etc. This will lead to very intense games! To win, a player must mark off every single image on their bingo card. If you ever spotted the remains of an exoskeleton left behind from a dragonfly nymph molting into an adult dragonfly, then you have seen the empty shell. Helpful hint: to create smaller ants, print off two ant printables on one sheet of paper. Attach the ants with glue for a permanent creation. Additional Crafting Tips Even a small space or one tree can provide clues of insect activity. Look at all of evidence of insects on this one tree!

Start playing by having one person pull out a small square card out of the pile and call it out or by showing the picture or saying the number on the card.

Our nature bingo will teach kids to appreciate the environment and subtleties hidden in nature, including different plants and animals. Nature bingo will encourage them to be curious and carefully observe their surroundings.

Record data in a nature journal. As they find more of the same type, they can add tally marks next to the insect name. All you need are some printable insect bingo cards and a few pieces of candy or small toys to use as markers. When the game is being played by children let them know they can win a prize or get a treat for finding the four corners and finding lines. Plan the biggest treat for a full house.
