About this deal

I love Teen Wolf. Teen Wolf is my favorite show, actually. The show itself is very good at overcoming the reputation as a bad supernatural teen drama/comedy aired on MTV. If the show was like this book, I would have never watched past the first few episodes. This book is what everyone expects Teen Wolf to be, really bad. Nancy was born in Los Altos, California, and her family settled for a time in Walnut Creek. Her father, who taught at Stanford, joined the navy and the family traveled throughout California and lived in Japan for three years. When she was sixteen, she dropped out of high school to become a ballet dancer in Cologne, Germany, and later relocated to Frankfurt Am Main. The show is actually worth watching, if only for Stiles Stilinsky and Danny Mahealani. What's that? A cannonically gay character on an urban fantasy show--not a metaphor, stereotype, or implied subtext? And he's a complex character who never gets a Very Special Episode? Good with computers, popular, and the goalie on the lacrosse team? Yeah, it's worth a look at the pilot. And once you're there, well, Stiles. But the book... Scott McCall is the sixteen-year-old protagonist. Raised by his single mother, Melissa McCall a nurse at the local hospital. He was a normal kid that grew up in a broken home. Until one day before the school year started he was bitten by an Alpha werewolf. Now he is forced to hide his other side from his mother. I'll start off with things I liked about the book. Nancy's characterization was spot-on. She got Scott - if you haven't watched the show he's the main character/protagonist shall we say - right on the money; a little naive, completely in love, coming into his own, caring and strong. She even got Stiles spot on, and he is a hard character to put to print because he's so animated on screen. I was really worried how that was going to turn out because Stiles is my favorite character but he just seems that he would be so hard to write because of all his mannerisms and eccentricities, but Nancy managed to do so wonderfully.

This book was a lot of fun to read. I've never read a book based off of a movie or television series before, but I'm glad I did in this case. This twist of the plot was intriguing and kept my interest until the very end. I loved the characters (and hated some of the characters) as much as I do in the show. Ms. Holder was spot on in her writing. This novel really felt like it could be an alternate reality. Plus, the setup and execution of this novel were done wonderfully. All of the information you need to understand what occurred before the story took place and about the characters is expertly woven into the story. It doesn't feel forced or like a summary at all. That was one that I was really happy about. I didn't feel like I was eating information. As the story progressed, so did my knowledge about the characters and the past.

How to Vote

MTV was a great client. From the very start they were supper supportive of both the Bestiary project and my work on it.

I read the book in about sixth grade, borrowed from a local branch of the King County Library System. I lived in the Pacific NorthWest, and there is a huge genre of PNW fantasy/horror/adventure, some of which is only available in this area because it's by local publishers. So it might not be a ubiquitous book, but I'm assuming it is at least on GR and hopefully on this list. DON'T READ UNLESS YOU WATCHED THE SECOND SEASON FINALE*** You will find yourself up late at night busting out laughing at Stiles Stilinski, Scotts loyal best friend. He knows all about Scott being a werewolf and he tries to help. The only bad part about that is that Stiles’ dad is the sheriff in town, and one wrong word to his dad and Scott would be busted. And Derek would be really mad, which is probably an understatement. But Stiles would more or less be dead. Sad face, because you will find yourself falling in love with his witty sense of humor and his clumsiness. I mean, it’s really just adorable and Holder portrays him very well. Franchises: Teen Wolf (2011) • Teen Wolf (film) • Teen Wolf Too • On Fire: A Teen Wolf Novel • Teen Wolf (1986) The book was about a boy from Seattle. I believe (but don't remember for sure) that he and his family were supposed to be Asian. The boy has a character trait of "wolfing down" his dinner when he is with his dad in Seattle. The plot involves him going with some mysterious relative to a remote location in the PNW, in a cabin where he sleeps in the loft. I'm actually surprised at the amount of praise for this book. In my opinion, it is really just a marketing scheme and monetizing on the popularity of Teen Wolf. Do. Not. Buy. This. Book. Save your money and go read some free fan fiction, because it is going to be better than this.We are an encyclopedic wiki documenting all canon content relating to Teen Wolf. Nice to have an adventure with the characters. Also nice to learn more about Derek and his and Kate's relationship. Poor Derek. Liked the alternating POVs.

Then there’s Derek, another wolf that was born a wolf. And if you didn’t already think he was hot from Teen Wolf, then you will now from the passages that are in the past. They are all mostly in his point of view and it shows him when he was a young, vulnerable, maturing werewolf that thinks he’s in love. Too bad the woman, and yes I mean woman, is a werewolf hunter. And she uses him. Majorly. That’s all I am going to say about that except that there is more and more fire.
