This is a beautiful, touching and moving insight into people's lives and loves also it's a historical document of the time when it was written and sent, Having all that in mind I am a grateful "peeping Tom" and would highly recommend this book as an act of curiosity you can get away with. Although he suffered a mental breakdown in his later years, he still went on to paint masterpieces like Starry Night and The Sower.
