Specifications The availability of decent-sized pods and having been happy with the couple of XROS devices I already have and Vaporesso's rightly-earned reputation for well-made kit with excellent flavour were a large part of my decision to buy this one. The large battery capacity was also something that attracted me as I'm a heavy vaper and don't get anything like all day out of the 1000mAH or 1200mAH batteries on my other devices, meaning I need to carry more than one vape with me when I'm out of the house for any significant time and I also have to take a bottle of juice with me as I don't get even 2 hours' vaping out of a 2ml pod. I think the current laws regarding pod/tank capacity and the 10ml bottle size limit if it contains nicotine are utterly ridiculous but I digress.Coils are what really makes or breaks a device. VAPORESSO’s pod systems have had really good coils lately, and thankfully this one uses the same ones as the LUXE X which were already good. (You can find more info in the performance section of the LUXE X review). These are mesh coils that make use of “COREX” tech, which is stated to offer 50% more flavor and 50% more coil life. I don’t know how one could put a percentage on flavor, but the life is really good. There are two coil options available, each coming with its own pod. A 0.4-ohm coil for DL vaping at around 30 watts, and a 0.8-ohm coil with the MTL pod that’s powered at around 16 watts. Yet positioning the toggle mid way made a huge difference. Airflow restriction increases to around 50% and a direct lung vape is instantly replaced by a semi restrictive one. The Vaporesso Luxe XR Max vape kit is a robust yet compact sub ohm vape, designed with portability in mind. Its 2800mAh built-in battery supports plenty of vaping before needing to be recharged and thanks to the variable 5-80W power output, you can choose a level of vapour that suits you. It also means that while the included GTX coils can support DTL (Direct To Lung) and RDTL (Restricted Direct To Lung) vaping, the kit also works with MTL (Mouth To Lung) coils from the same range. I do have concerns about the side mounted airflow toggle. It feels very loose when sliding to make adjustments. The included Luxe XR pods are easy to refill – simply lift up the rubber stopper on the base of the pod to access the fill port. The replaceable coils mean less waste and a cheaper way of running your kit, while their mesh design improves flavour. Regardless of which coil you choose, both work best with 70% VG e-liquid or higher VG options.
