About this deal

Despite still not much liking Fat White Family's music, I really enjoyed this (and understand what they're about more). Brad Elterman has photographed numerous bands and artists since the 1970s including Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Sex Pistols, Runaways, The Who, ABBA, Blondie, Michael Jackson, Ramones, Madonna, Iggy Pop, etc. Since making the move his work has appeared online and in print for many of the worlds established music magazines including, Rolling Stone, Mojo and Clash. I will gaze back upon this moment of maternal tenderness through a glaze of tears from the wreck of my sinister over-indulgences.

Purple card covers; front cover artwork hand embossed in black; acid-free Fedrigoni paper; red endpapers. I’d seen them murder an audience before, and I’d also seen them when they were awful enough to walk out on after three tunes. This is the definitive account of Fat White Family’s disgraceful and radiant jihad – a depraved, romantic and furious gesture of refusal to a sanitised era. It involves a spectacular amount of drug taking and a wanton disregard for anything approaching professionalism. I would suggest that if one is into the fairly generic pop of say Taylor Swift, then one will not like this band's music one little bit.Never slowing down or dulling it's blade, all 318 pages of this book are geared to be consumed in rapid succession and never fail to satisfy. Like a good documentary, a good music book will get you interested in an artist who you previously had no interest in.

Despite what is clearly a golden ticket out he manages to waste a big chance to break free of his working-class insecurities. got what was coming to him, fair enough, but these boys fucking worship you lot so shut the fuck up and have a drink for fuck’s sake! There are some ridiculous levels of drug consumption that are occasionally hard to believe and it does become quite dark but there is always a funny scene/anecdote not far away. At a Glastonbury where Nathan has champagne chucked in his face by band hero Mark E Smith and retaliates by chucking some cider into Smith’s face! No, but we've got crystal meth, you'll have to trek up the hill for a hit though, it’s frowned upon down here,’ replied the Landlord. UK punk band Fat White Family are the last of a dying breed; a rock n’ roll group so loud, vulgar and iconoclastic they cannot be ignored. Back in May, Lias Saoudi, frontman of Fat White Family, said he’s working on a book about sex therapy. The book covers an expansive period of time, ranging from Lias' youth in various towns, such as Cookstown and Knocknacarra, to his drug addled time spent within The Fat White Family. Actually the Saoudi's family background was more compelling than the decadence, and the pre -FWF period was more involving even if it was less astonishing.

The result is a decent debut album, a pretty unlistenable second and the last album as they decamped away from their London dealers to Sheffield to offer a unique take on modern Britain that as time goes on is proving to be a minor classic. Online since 2010 it is one of the fastest-growing and most respected music-related publications on the net. It is also funny in a tragi-comic way especially when Nathan, and bizarrely his mum, get into a row with the tiresome Mark E. This is the definitive account of Fat White Family's disgraceful and radiant jihad - a depraved, romantic and furious gesture of refusal to a sanitised era.

You could hear him growling profanities in a semi-drunken stupor: a dribbling, hectoring totem, a cabaret washout gone to seed and taking it all out on this poor woman. Let’s start with the fact I have actually listened to this via Audiobook via my Spotify Premium account, this is only the 2nd Audiobook I have ever listened to. It is concerned with the travails of the art-rock provocateurs Fat White Family, whose tales of poverty, addiction, mental illness, and the drudgery of touring might be completely off-putting on the page if they weren’t written in such a bleakly hilarious way by author Adelle Stripe and Lias Saoudi (the latter the singer with the aforementioned band).

Your Message Please notify me when Adelle Stripe and Lias Saoudi - Ten Thousand Apologies: Fat White Family And The Miracle Of Failure becomes available - https://worldofechomusic. At its center are the two Saoudi boys, Lias and Nathan, whose upbringing across Scotland, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Algeria, and London forms the surprising highlight of the book, as well as Saul Adamczewski, whose prodigious musical talent is matched only by his prodigious drug habit. SHORTLISTED FOR THE PENDERYN MUSIC BOOK PRIZE 'The story of a band that's always on the brink: of stardom, of madness, of brilliance, of disgrace' Miranda Sawyer, Observer 'You begin to wonder why more biographies aren't tackled with such invention' Record Collector 'This book is a rarity' Mark Lanegan 'One of the finest music books in aeons' Kevin Barry From the mountains of Algeria to the squats of South London via sectarian Northern Ireland, Ten Thousand Apologies is the sordid and thrilling story of the country's most notorious cult band, Fat White Family. The Landlord had been assuring me for some weeks that the solution to my Glastonbury 2015 dilemma – we had two slots on the Sunday, one at 4 a. Nathan, a Marvin Gaye man through and through who didn't really give a shit about the Fall, back then at least, saw an opening.

We were excitedly filling him in when some kind of heinous commotion could be heard unfolding in the adjacent tent, Mark E. Though she has done her work, interviewing Nathan and Saul extensively, as well as others, this book both starts and ends with Lias.
