About this deal

Serve with white rice, garnish with scallions and add a couple of Snoop's cornbread muffins on the side . . . . All we’re saying is, it’s kind of a weird branding choice to not even have a cannabutter recipein the Snoop Dogg cookbook. In the book, Snoop calls this his "greatest recipe", noting that the key is to make sure they're nicely baked.

Place the pan in the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, rotating the pan about halfway through the baking time to ensure even cooking, until the brownies are set and the edges looked baked. So, like I said, this one starts with a roux (that’s one cup oil to one cup flour, whisked together on medium heat and then stirred every few minutes to prevent burning for 20-30 minutes for those who don’t know) and then a minced version of the “holy trinity” (but with red bell peppers rather than the standard green this go ‘round) added to complete the base . . . . Gradually add the flour mixture to the chocolate, stirring until just combined. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the top of the batter with the remaining 1 cup [180 g] of chocolate morsels. In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Swirl the skillet to cover the bottom completely. When the skillet is hot and the foam has subsided, add the bread. Lightly toast for about 2 minutes per side, or until golden. Transfer to a cutting board and spread the mustard on one slice of bread.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, butter, and milk. Bring to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat and add 1½ cups [270 g] of the chocolate morsels. Stir until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Since the beginning of his career in the early ’90s, when he arrived on the West Coast music scene as a smooth-talking gangsta-rap standout, Snoop Dogg has been more than open about how much he loves smoking weed. slices bologna, 1 Tbsp unsalted butter, 2 slices white bread, 1 tsp yellow mustard, 3 slices American cheese, Barbecue potato chips, as many as you want. Place the fried bologna and cheese on the toasted bread slice without mustard and top with as many chips as you and your sandwich can handle. We had to try Snoop’s ‘Spaghetti de la Hood’ because the picture in the book was so enticing, and we're hardcore spaghetti fanatics--eating it at least 3-4 times per month. This is a nice basic spaghetti with meatballs recipe, but there were a few things I personally didn’t like about it. I’m used to baking my meatballs rather than frying. The meat mixture almost seemed dry, but they turned out really good. The sauce didn’t have loads of flavor. Our family is used to having some Italian spices in the sauce like oregano and marjoram, plus some added spice from cayenne pepper. This recipe only called for a bay leaf, but it was still really good. Everyone really enjoyed it and I think this is one my son will want to make again in the future. It really isn’t hard to modify the recipe and add in the spices you want for your perfect sauce.

Overall, this is a really good cookbook fo shizzle! We’re having a lot of fun with it. The recipe titles are catchy and there’s some interesting reading in between. Every recipe has a story and it’s a plus getting to know a little more about Snoop Dogg and his food preferences. It definitely has some nice personal touches. From that “bubonic chronic” he bragged about on ‘Gin and Juice’ to his numerous successful foraysinto today’s legal cannabis industry, almost 25 years later, the D-O-double-G and marijuana are practically synonymous. That’s why we were initially a little disappointed when we found out Snoop’s first cookbook, “From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg’s Kitchen,” wouldn’t include any recipes that incorporate cannabis. YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT–Thanksgiving is one of the most important cooking days of the year. It’s real important that you have a great chef in the kitchen on T-Day. I’m talking about your momma, your auntie…someone who knows just how much cheese to put in that macaroni, or who makes the perfect gravy to cover your whole plate. I just so happen to have learned all the greatest Broadus family recipes from my grandmas, cousins, you name it. Some of these recipes weren’t easy to come by–you know the family ain’t trying to give up their secrets! Well, I struggled to get ’em so you don’t have to. Your turkey will never be dry and your sides will never be flavorless if you follow Tha Dogg’s lead! It’s not as if cookbooks that combine marijuana and cooking are remotely taboo anymore — see “ Bong Appetit” and “ Edibles: Small Bites for the Modern Cannabis Kitchen” for two examples from late 2018 alone. And it seems unusual that one of the titular stars of “Mac & Devin Go to High School” would shy away from a chance to include pot in… anything. But, for whatever reason, “From Cook to Crook” declines to teach its readers how to dose their home-cooked munchies.A favourite munchie was discovered when I had the bright idea of throwing that bologna in a frying pan," he writes. "But now that we moved on up, like The Jeffersons, that bologna turned into the finest aged meats. We ain’t eating this just cuz we have to. These days we eat it because what would go better with that thang we love to do so much. Maybe I’ll start making it with some “smoked” Gouda now." Return the skillet to the heat and add the bologna in a single layer. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crisp. Flip the bologna and top each slice with the American cheese. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes more, or until the cheese starts to melt. The whole thing starts off with a bite-sized opener from his TV co-host Martha Stewart, an introduction from Snoop and a visually delightful tour of Snoop’s cabinet and fridge, photographs absolutely included. From there, the book breaks down into chapters on breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, drinks (again, booze but not pot? C’mon!) and parties. Book Genre: Cookbooks, Cooking, Culture, Food, Food and Drink, Foodie, Health, Humor, Nonfiction, Pop Culture, Reference That’s not to say the plant is entirely absent in “From Crook to Cook,” either. The text is full of cheeky, wink-wink references to smoking pot. Snoop talks about “OG munchies” in three different sections interspersed throughout the book, where he ranks his favorite cereal, chips and candy. He tells readers to “go get baked!” in the introduction for a brownie sundae recipe. And one of the recipes, dubbed “The Lunch Briz-eak,” is literally just a plate of fruit with honey and peanut butter on it that you’re supposed to eat while you get high at work — though, for the record, it sounds tasty.
