About this deal

In the hot summer months, fruit flies often can't resist an inviting fruit bowl. This fly trap is an eco-friendly way to get rid of those annoying visitors. Approximately 86% of existing species on Earth and 91% of species in the ocean are believed to await formal scientific description, but researchers fear that much of the world’s biodiversity is at risk of disappearing before it can be identified. Pons, J-M et al. 2015. The role of western Mediterranean islands in the evolutionary diversification of the Spotted Flycatcher ( Muscicapa striata), a long-distance migratory passerine species. Journal of Avian Biology. 47. 10.1111/jav.00859.

Add Dish Soap: Add a few drops of dish soap to the mixture. The dish soap breaks the surface tension of the liquid, causing the fruit flies to sink into the liquid when they land on it, rather than floating on the surface. Asian Brown Flycatcher breeds across Siberia east to Sakhalin and Japan and winters in South-East Asia. It is an extreme rarity in Britain with only four records to date, all on the east coast, one in July and the others in September and October. Collared Flycatcher (Heligoland, Germany, 27 September 2008).This bird closely resembles a Pied Flycatcher. The white tertial edges and covert tips and dark tail with white outer tail feathers are all typical of that species. However, the patch at the base of the primaries is strikingly large and 'club shaped', extending down beyond the tips of the primary coverts and forward towards the leading edge of the wing. A white patch at the primary bases is shown by many Pied Flycatchers but the one on this bird is beyond the range of Pied and is a key pointer to Collared Flycatcher (Roef Mulder). THE STRONGEST CLUSTER FLY SPRAY ON THE MARKET – Our latest innovative formulation contains three powerful active ingredients making it unparalleled in its ability to eradicate cluster fly infestations from the home or business. In this era of environmental crisis, the year 2019 has shown that we have entered a critical stage. We will lose a lot of biodiversity in the future and we have limited resources to conserve what we have. How are we to conserve our biodiversity if we don’t know where it is? We really need a new push for biodiversity discovery and I hope that this study will provide the impetus for that.” Depending on how much fruit flies are around your house, it is recommended to wash and replace a new bait liquid in every 2 weeks. KONNA is safe for dishwasher so it’s super easy to clean. Add Dish Soap: Add a few drops of dish soap and gently mix. The soap will break the surface tension of the wine, causing fruit flies to sink in when they land on it. Add soap: Add a few drops of dish soap and gently stir. Fruit flies will be attracted by the vinegar and get trapped in the soapy liquid. Its eastern counterpart – Taiga Flycatcher – is very similar; indeed it was until relatively recently regarded as its eastern subspecies. Taiga Flycatcher breeds across Siberia and winters in South-East Asia. It is an extreme rarity in Britain, with only three records to date, one in April and the others in September and October.

Add Sugar: Add the sugar to the vinegar and water mixture. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. The sugar helps attract the fruit flies to the bait. The taxonomy and understanding of this taxon is still a work in progress, but there are some nice papers and write ups out there for those interested. Below is a summary (not exhaustive) list of what I have found online: Easy To Use: To start this indoor bug trap, please press the ON button. It will start immediately. You should put the flies trap in a dark space and turn it on 2-3 hours before using it. The insect trap is the best solution for the kitchen, balcony, and garden. Shorter primary projection: Primary projection is generally shorter than – or at most equal to – the length of the tertials (see bird in fig 7). In s triata, primary projection is longer than the tertial length. Furthermore, the second primary falls between fifth and sixth in balearica, but between the fourth and fifth in striata (Viganò& Corso, 2015).

In the last 20 years, only 161 new species of birds have been found worldwide, with even fewer in restricted geographic areas. There are roughly 11,000 recognised bird species, yet it is believed many more remain to be discovered. Place the trap: Place the KONNA trap near the fruit fly activity. The sweet juice and honey will lure the fruit flies into the trap.

Asian Brown Flycatcher (Flamborough Head, East Yorkshire, 4 October 2007).There are few features visible in this head-on shot and this bird could at first glance be one of several flycatchers. However, the very large-looking eye, prominent eyering and extensively and contrastingly pale lores should grab the attention. Further views should then reveal the complete suite of Asian Brown Flycatcher characters (Steve Young / www.birdsonfilm.com).

Spider & Insect Repellents

To claim a Mediterranean Flycatcher with any certainty outside of the species’ usual range, at least until further studies are released, one needs to be very cautious, and take good photos and/or notes. The potential for vagrancy into North-West Europe must certainly be a possibility, if you consider the number of Catalan records per year, and the fact that badius Woodchat Shrike can and has made it several times, further strengthens this. If anyone has any thoughts on the subject in general, I would love to hear from you! Further resources Fill the trap with suitable bait liquid, which you can easily mix at home, and place it near fruit bowls or houseplants. Once the fruit flies have flown into the trap, they can no longer get out and your fruit is safe. Powerful Pest Control: Featuring a 4,000-volt grid, our electric zapper is a modern take on traditional swatters. Instantly eliminating mosquitos, flies and other pests in a single swing, it provides peace of mind and reliable results. Cover the base: Cover the KONNA fruit fly trap with plastic wrap and poke small holes in it. Fruit flies will be attracted to both the vinegar and the ripe fruit.
