I got mine 3 years ago as I was looking for a special wedding perfume and at that time it was already very hyped. Baccarat 540 was the perfume that opened up a world of niche fragrances to my nose. I got so many compliments unlike any other perfume I wore in my life. Unfortunately the downside is everyone does know about it because of the hype and fed up smelling everywhere due to very good dupes. I even got a Zara Red temptation to wear it for work and Baccarat only for special occasions. Although Zara is a fantastic dupe it’s still not quite the same as the original. And please stop the Ariana Grande Cloud comparison, yes they are both sweet and make you feel happy but deep down you know there is no dupe to this fragrance. Baccarat Rouge is not for everyone. You need the right nose and skin. You need to test this especially if you can't afford to lose a couple of hundred pounds at least. Does the fact that there are similar frags mean this is any less special or not worth the price point? Not to me. Each one, though similar, are still different in the end. I personally think it's wonderful that if this doesn't work for someone, they can search out an alternative and not be left out. Fast forward one year later, I still hate this fragrance. For me, it smells like a chemical strawberry aroma. Even worth, it makes me feel like vomiting and I am happy to read that I am not the only one.

If you want a high quality fragrance with outstanding performance and you love the scent DNA that smells luxurious, sexy and sophisticated then go for it; I would highly recommend adding this to your collection if you are willing to spend the money.There is something very odd about this fragrance: many people do not get that it is quite polarizing and that actually quite a few people hate BR540 or do not like it. And when you do tell people that you hate BR540, they take it personal. Calm down people this is just a fragrance and there are much more important things on earth to get concerned about. Maybe my skin chemistry is thwarting the fragrance, who knows, but I’ll say this, there are times when you take away the weird medicine underbelly that the fragrance reminds me of red silk over a lighted lamp in a dark room, and the progression is like seeing the shadows of the surrounding objects billowing through its walls. And that part is rather beautiful.

Men spend all of their hard earned dollars on her for just a simple "hello" a smile or even a wave! She is so majestic and you cannot even understand WHY you want her so badly... The best and most cheerful combination of bright saffron and woods with ambergris that I have ever smelled. Mfk is shady, they don't take customer complaints seriously at all. They don't answer questions and it's supposed to be some luxurious experience of a fragrance house - yeah they can only afford ONE sales rep who is basically as useless as br540 new formulated bottles. Yes, its output is a somewhat intense hospital iodine smell, it doesn't smell like a dentist to me, it smells like an operating room. A dentist smells like fluoride, not iodine.Sweet amber, floral scent. spicy sweet saffron, healthy dose of amber, fir resins, jasmine and a strong smooth cedar wood accord are blended to create a sexy, unique, loud and attractive concoction. Perfect for making a statement or for special occasions as this fragrance is unique, loud and just smells special. Very sweet with a nice fresh airyness to it. Can be worn in all four season but it is better suited for winter. This fragrance is a really nice warmth and a a burnt sugar like accord. I recently gave a praise review but that was for an older bottle pre formulation (even tho customer service says otherwise) That medical smell is fresh and woody, and although it may seem crazy, it works on the skin as a fresh reaction. But in a few minutes or even seconds we notice that caramel 🍬 or strawberry candy smell enters that brings a game of mischief to the fragrance. It's incredible that iodine from an operating room, strawberry candies and some quite extraterrestrial woods combine so well! Well yes! Of course, not only do they combine well with me, it is a perfume that is highly sought after by thousands of people and I believe that it is currently the most counterfeited on the market and many brands have also tried to make insinuations of this smell.

Lasting impression: Its nice. It isnt worth the price point, and it isnt anything new. It doesnt project hugely but I imagine the extrait performs better in that aspect. Unlike some noses, I never get the burnt sugar, strawberry, sweet notes. I can smell metallic notes associated with hospital environment but for some strange reason this metallic note is so alluring. Smells so unique, sophisticated, sexy, elegant, can be worn day and night! That’s your signature material perfume ! Kurkdjian created a masterpiece and so many other brands and perfumers are recreating it! Strong projection even after around 6-8 hours which you may not notice as you become anosmic but other people can still smell you. It hypes me up and makes me remember to never settle for anything other than what I know I deserve. She’s my wing-woman for sure :)That being said, I also have HoS Whispers of Truth and once that gets to the dry down, it is almost identical on my skin to BR540. WoT has a lemon-y opening, kind of like lemon pound cake, but then it turns to caramel and burnt sugar like this does. To me, it's feminine and definitely not suitable for a straight masculine "alpha male". You will not attract the ladies or turn heads unless you layer it with something woody/ouddy. Fast forward to now I cannot stand it there’s to many dupes of this what I’ve smelt people wear and it’s ruined it for me unfortunately.

Every couple of years a fragrance becomes publicized as the chosen one. Granted, the fragrance will have been launched for several years but it will be the must have that leaves goes from being elite to having 8 dupes. BR540 is this fragrance. It has a sweet sophisticated appeal that has unisex qualities for an alluring man or a woman commanding attention because the fragrance when worn in moderation will turn heads and make olfactory’s fall in love. To me it smells like the interior of my mom’s old medicine cabinet, an inorganic, synthetic sweetness reminding me of Merbromim solutions mixed with several cough syrups. Cold maltol sugars and antiseptic. It is underlined by a strange oceanic vibe and the image hammering my brain is of a sugar glass isomalt sculpture that someone dropped into a fish tank.Having first tried it with no idea what to expect, this subverted some of my initial thoughts. Having the same name as a card game, and having the word rouge in it, I was expecting something deep, luxurious, floral. It's not really deep or floral, but it certainly is luxurious. I had to get a sample to see what all the fuss was about. I got a sample of AG Cloud at the same time, as I was keen to compare them, and I like a lot of the notes in both (I love a lactonic).
