About this deal

Once the models are all grey scale, I gave them several very thin coats of Vallejo Game Air Gory Red Spot detail on aprons with Blood for the Blood God – get a beat up brush, and just sort of smear it around Now with my glaze of Pallid Wych Flesh ready, I go over the raised muscle of the skin to make it stand out against the rest of the flesh, but not enough to make it too much of a bright white color to overwhelm the Rakarth Flesh. Sybarite Green where it makes sense on the cloth – this is a bit of an art, but you want to put some lines to give it some definition. You can push these further with Skarsnik Green if you want For my Drukhari, I wanted to make clear that these are three separate subfactions who cooperate, and that they aren’t really a single army. To that end, I chose some color schemes that stand out next to one another, but have a coherent threat that joins them together.

Once I’ve finished the legs off I drybrush the bottom areas with a light dusting of Celestra Grey. This blends Abaddon into the base and gives him a much more weathered appearance. All those mixing of colors is usually something I dont want to do, cause I am always having a hard to replicating the color.Pendulin’s Shadowkeepers scheme can be found in a separate article – How to Paint Everything: Adeptus Custodes Shadowkeepers. Once you have the glaze mixed, use a small brush to put just a little bit of the paint on the tip. Since the paint is so wet with thinner, if there’s too much paint on the brush it will run and we wont have the kind of control we want. Use your nail, the base of the model, or the pallet to test it a bit to make sure you have good control over the paint coming off the brush.

But it's good to know that at least it's stegadon scale and then it appears she is just drybrushing to get the effect of the bones showing through. From what I can tell she is using Ulthuan grey! She has also achieved exactly what I was gonna aim for with the green at the bottom of the model.. Kinda feels bad now to try and replicate it

Blue

GW's new range matches with the old range are the matches claimed by GW. However, many of the paints do not match very closely at all and some mixing will be required to get close to the original colours. If you are trying to match old GW with new GW, you'd be better just getting Vallejo game color or coat d'arms for the closest match )

Drybrush the darker metal areas with Ironbreaker, and highlight the lighter areas with Scale 75 Heavy Metal. Final highlight the bottom-right of the jewel with an even smaller layer of Baharroth Blue mixed with White. The Master of Mankind by Aaron Dembski-Bowden takes place during the Horus Heresy and gives you insight into the Emperor himself (and his finest creations). There’s just one last thing to show you for this scheme, the power lance blade. You could use this for any of the power weapons custodes wield.

Also, the horns on the bull highlight from a blue-grey to a white-blue as blue works well against red. Material Matters I would love to have a blue feel to the whole army and then some very light green drybrushing effect where the blue and green is sort of melted together. The green is supposed to represent the flame effect that I am planning on the guardian of souls-model. Do you think that will work? Sidenote: in practice sRGB compliance tells you only that you can distinguish separated grey, blue, green and red gradients to sufficient degree in optimal lighting conditions. Coupled with intended brightness way above print production makes most sRGB monitors useless for any paint color matching applications and sRGB mode is always way, way off from even manually calibrated. Moreover - you cannot have usefull „factory calibration” because calibration has to take ambient room light colour and brightness into account, if you want to have both daylight and calibrated monitor you have to use perpetual adjustment mode of hardware calibrators. Caliban Green: This deep, forest green paint pairs well with Incubi Darkness, creating a sense of depth and mystery. It can be used to add highlights and details to models painted with Incubi Darkness, creating a sense of verdant life amidst the darkness.Verdigris was added by painting Nihilakh Oxide into select recesses. I then added a bit of VGC Foul Green [ Sybarite Green] to further enrichen the effect.
