About this deal

This second point is what pushes it just to the top (bottom) of the pile when it comes to absolute trash that you shouldn’t take, just above the Basilisk. It’s a Basilisk (bad) but more so (worse). It doesn’t even have the damn heavy bolter. In Conclusion The Age of Darkness box includes 40 Space Marines in Mark VI power armour – and they’ll soon be available separately in a box of 20, meaning these weapon upgrade sets are a perfect one-stop armoury. Kratos Heavy Assault Tank

If you’re happy to trade flexibility for sheer firepower, the melta blast-gun will give your tank a more specialised role – it makes the Kratos the bane of enemy tanks and transports. Look, this has to be a mistake, right? The whole point is it’s a giant angry drop pod, but it’s also not. It has absolutely terrible armaments (the Deathstorm, charming on a 90 point platform with perfect Deep Strike, isn’t so tempting on this) and while tough for a flyer is going to die to intercepts and then just normal shooting really fast (it’s going to be in hover mode, right, so it can unload).

Guns are all well and good, but battlefield logistics are even more thrilling – relaying commands to your platoons is the stuff tabletop generals dream of. A new resin upgrade kit will let you outfit your plastic Deimos-pattern Rhino with a trusty vox relay and geo-locator beacon, transforming it into a Damocles Command Rhino from which your commanders can display their tactical brilliance. Instant Death is always scary and Lingering Death is a crazy little addition to the battlefield when you remember it.

It’s worth saying that any legion can pretty much do things in any way you like. Each legion was tens or hundreds of thousands of space marines, and there were enormous variations among them. You can build a Raven Guard terminator siege force if you want, or a Death Guard assault company, or anything else you fancy. But each set of legion special rules and units definitely encourages a particular play style and this guide tries to help you lean in on what makes your legion stand out while using the same box as everyone else. Heavy Bolter: Cheap for sure, but the venerable Heavy Bolter is in a rough place right now. Not enough shots to weigh down the enemy with weight of fire, not enough punch to reliably kill anything with the shots that do land. Some utility for Imperial Fists, but even then they have better things to spend their Heavy Support Slots on. As for other equipment the Dozer Blade is probably a sensible choice (there’s nothing worse than immobilising a tank turn one by driving over some rubble) and the searchlights are ok but I’d probably keep them on a sacrificial rhino or something similar rather than lighting up your heavy tank like a christmas tree.

Unit Types

This is just a Land Raider Proteus Carrier. Literally, it’s just that. But you can’t take them as dedicated transport for some reason. I hope this gets fixed because you should really just be able to use them interchangeably. It really only exists for people who are insistent that their old 40k land raiders have different rules than the 30k styled ones. These people are silly. Legion Land Raider Achilles (Expanded)
