About this deal

In the radiative zone, energy is transferred by a process called thermal radiation. During this process, photons that were released in the core travel a short distance, are absorbed by a nearby ion, released by that ion, and absorbed again by another. One photon can continue this process for almost 200,000 years! The sun itself is white, which means it contains all the colors in the visible spectrum. The sun appears orangish-yellow because the blue light it emits has a shorter wavelength, and is scattered in the atmosphere—the same process that makes the sky appear blue.

But they want to keep trying to make it work. Their relationship is so much more complex. We only get a glimpse of what they’re like in The Trials of Apollo, so I was thrilled to see their development. Will is also an amazing character. We get to learn more about him and he’s such a sunshiny sweetheart. He cares about his boyfriend, friends, and family a lot. And of course, Nico. I’m proud of him for growing up. He finally learns to embrace that darkness, the light, all his feelings (both positive and negative). He finally learns to cope in a healthy way. He finally accepts that he can be happy. Using Gorgyra's canoe, Nico and Will descend into Tartarus where the power of the river forces them to confront their insecurities and differences of opinion, particularly on the nature of the Underworld. Locating Bob's pet saber-toothed skeleton cat, Small Bob, the demigods discover that Percy and Annabeth's giant friend Damasen is still reforming and can't help them before finally reaching Nyx's home, the Mansion of Night, where Bob is imprisoned in a continuous regeneration cycle. By combining their powers, Nico and Will free Bob before Nyx arrives with Nemesis, Hypnos, a reformed Epiales, and an army of monsters to cut off their escape. This book dares to ask the bold question “how is Nico di Angelo?” It’s a look into his trauma specifically and him trying to cope with it. Nico’s arc had me sobbing towards the end! This book was to me the literary equivalent of therapy and did heal a little bit of something inside of me. As the son of Hades, Nico di Angelo has been through so much, from the premature deaths of his mother and sister, to being outed against his will, to losing his friend Jason during the trials of Apollo. But there is a ray of sunshine in his life–literally: his boyfriend, Will Solace, the son of Apollo. Together the two demigods can overcome any obstacle or foe. At least, that’s been the case so far . . .Fair enough! But this makes me wonder which characters we’ll most likely see in The Sun and the Star. As of right now, Nico, Will, Bob (and probably Small Bob), Rachel, Chiron, and Mr. D are the only ones confirmed by the synopsis, but there are plenty of other characters who could play a role. To figure out which ones may show up, however, we’ll have to talk about the last piece of the puzzle, which is what we learned at the end of The Tower of Nero. At the end of Tower of Nero, Rachel Elizabeth Dare whispers a prophecy to Nico and Will, though we don’t get to hear it at this time. Will says it doesn’t sound good, but it’s not like prophecies ever do. We’ll likely hear about it near the beginning of The Sun and the Star, which will inform the shape their quest takes. Considering both Nico and Will attend Camp Half-Blood, it’s no surprise that Chiron and Mr. D will be involved in an official capacity, as will Rachel, since it’s her prophecy. Small Bob appears to have either reformed already or escaped death as Nico and Will find him wandering Tartarus. Will and Nico's dynamic was really interesting to finally see develop - communication and understanding their true self was so very true and important in this story, and I loved how that no matter how many times the nightmares threatened to plunge them into an eternal darkness, they would always find a way into the light through the help of each other. 🌟🌞 There was a perfect balance of trust and humor in their banter - a subtle tease of flirting and dear affection - and such an earnest and emotional connection of affection shown between the two of them. ' Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are another type of solar activity caused by the constant movement and disturbances within the sun’s magnetic field. CMEs typically form near the active regions of sunspots, the correlation between the two has not been proven. The cause of CMEs is still being studied, and it is hypothesized that disruptions in either the photosphere or corona lead to these violent solar explosions.

the co-author tried to make it funny, but I wasn't laughing like I do with other Riordan's books. the jokes were lame. Solar energy is a renewable resource, and many technologies can harvest it directly for use in homes, businesses, schools, and hospitals. Some solar energy technologies include solar voltaic cells and panels, solar thermal collectors, solar thermal electricity, and solar architecture. The writing style also didn’t work for me because of how dominated it was by lame jokes that barely had any of the classic Pjo humour we’re used to, and because of how it had SO MANY pop culture references. These pop culture references date the book which is annoying since Riordan has told us time and time again how the book doesn’t follow a certain date. This is a minor annoyance but jfc they were not needed. It is meant to be a stand-alone adventure. I am not ruling out that we might see more adventures of Nico and Will sometime in the future, in some manner, but there are no immediate plans for that. Right now, because of all the different projects I have going in the TV/film space, I am trying to do one book at a time because it is slightly easier to pivot from project to project that way. looking at all the dark parts of you in the eye and knowing you are who you are because of all of it.

Astrophysicists debate whether Earth’s orbit would expand beyond the sun’s reach, or if our planet would be engulfed by the sun as well. English scientist Sir Isaac Newton used a telescope and prism to scatter the light of the sun, and proved that sunlight was actually made of a spectrum of colors.
