About this deal

Do you want to Pillage and Burn the land without remorse? Do you enjoy Chaos but having to choose a single god make you squeamish? Do you want to run one of the biggest and best god models in the game? Then come on down to Slaves to Darkness, the faction where mortals of every chaos god can get together and share their common love of burning down the holdings of Sigmar, Nagash and just about anyone that isn’t them. Sometimes their own stuff too if they’re getting antsy. Splintered Fang are a blend of flesh, scale and steel. Of all the warbands, I found these the most enjoyable hobby-wise. Each detail is beautifully crafted; from the coiling snake motifs on their hilts to the miniature snake-heads serving as climbing spikes on their greaves.

Five treasure tokens are placed on the map, at pre-determined positions. The deployment is completely equal between the players, and sets up one treasure token safely being grabbed by each side in turn one, but for the other three to get fought over. With five treasure tokens up for grabs, there’s potentially a lot of models getting slowed down and unable to fly or disengage, and fast models, particularly ones that can fly, are great for hunting down treasure carriers and either killing them or pinning them in combat when they can’t disengage. A lone Venomblood can hold an objective, as long as they killed everyone else that could take it from them. You have a thousand points to spend and you can’t hit everything in the list below. Some warbands just don’t have all of the following available, and while you can use an ally slot to bring in a ringer and compensate for this, that means spending a lot of points when you only have a thousand points to spend. Remember to use generic abilities like Respite and Inspiring Presence as survival tools. Inspiring Presence is a good way of getting a hit in before the enemy gets a chance to kill a vulnerable but dangerous fighter.

Each model in the warband has a lot of character, and as a painter you get to paint almost any kind of texture as you go through the project: Hair, skin, metals, cloth, fur, horns, armor plating, jewelry, nets and so on. Rabble of Reptiles –The warband straight out of the box is not good. Like the Iron Golems, you will NEED a Slaves to Darkness Double Box to contend with the other warbands. This complexity is fantastic if you like a challenge and want to show your mastery of the game’s systems, but it also makes the Spire Tyrants a warband that’s difficult to recommend for beginners. You need to identify how you want to play, what your warband choice can do, and go from there. I would certainly recommend experimenting to find a list that suits your playstyle. Play some games and get the feel for the band, and then make changes to suit your tastes and what you find most effective.

Three objectives are on the table, and at the end of the first round the players roll off and the winner removes an objective and at the end of the second round they do this again. At the end of the fourth round, whoever holds the objective wins. At the end of the fourth battle round, the player with the most treasure counters in their position wins. So it doesn’t necessarily matter if your opponent grabs treasure early, it’s who has them at the end of the game. If building out of the box, the points values for the set miniatures are 830. Both of the Pit Fighter options are 60 points, and there is a 5 points difference between the Pit Veteran Options, which means your total points will either be 995 or 1000 if building with just 1 set. Headclaimers are popular champions of the arena that excite the crowd with their flashy beheadings in combat. [2] Bestigor Destroyer The skin was then highlighted with Kislev Flesh, and the horns were drybrushed with Ushabti Bone first, then Screaming Skull. The launch of third edition and subsequent months saw the release of some unit changes that work to the armies’ benefit. Your poster boy, Archaon, has been changed substantially which we will go into in the units section. Warcry warbands are easier to use, as with the Tome Celestial from White Dwarf it’s easier for them to get Battleline status and Marks of Chaos. Otherwise it’s a lot of the same changes that are sprinkled in every other book: lots of rerolls changes to +1s and a few units with streamlined weapon profiles, limiting them to one weapon type per unit.
