You might find yourself wishing that the outside edges weren’t beveled so that they’d line up properly in tablet mode or that the whole thing was thinner (¾ inch feels big for a handheld). The body is 11.5”x8.5”, which means it will fit neatly into any bag that will hold textbooks or notebooks. The same is true of Ram; once you have loaded a file from the hard drive, it’s now in the Ram and can be accessed almost instantaneously. But, with a combination of beautiful aesthetics, high performance, plenty of storage and RAM, lightweight design, and long battery life, the XPS 13 is one of the best white laptops available on the market in 2023.

You work at BID, what a legend.

The main reason this is at the top of our list is processing power. It boasts a six-core Intel i7 processor with 16 GB of RAM, enough to comfortably run multiple programs at once and to perform more demanding tasks like photo or video editing. The biggest downside that we’ve discovered is that its cooling is less than ideal. There aren’t any issues with damage caused by overheating, but it does get hot to the touch during high-demanding operations and isn’t really comfortable to keep in your lap, so make sure to put some money aside for a cooling pad. Toshiba makes a few models that feature Microsoft’s older versions of Windows. If you have applications that can only run on previous iterations of Windows, it may make sense to get a laptop with Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 on it. However, for the majority of users, Windows 10 is a better option – it’s more secure, and many newer applications simply won’t run on previous versions. The ASUS VivoBook is meant as a more cost-effective alternative to our list leader, the Dell XPS. Asus, in general, tend to be a little less powerful and perhaps a bit less sturdy, but on the whole, still very functional laptops for a significantly lower price. Sometimes it’s because you already have a dedicated home computer and need something cheap and light to get online or make notes while you’re away from home. That’s where a Chromebook, specifically this model from HP, comes in handy.

Let’s call this one the nuclear option. It’s definitely not for everyone. It’s probably more computer than most people need, and it’s not going to be in most people’s budget, but, well, it’s sure fun to dream about. Razer’s experience with peripherals means the RGB keyboard is wonderfully responsive, with about as much tactile experience as you could expect from a laptop. You’re still going to want a mouse for maximum effect, and even though the speakers and mic are fully functional, you’ll likely want a headset if you do online gaming. Now, Alienware went with a relatively low resolution (1920×1080) but a very high refresh rate (360Hz) for the screen. This is fairly common in gaming laptops, especially those targeted at professional or high-level competitive gamers. The FHD resolution still looks fine on a screen this size, and the high refresh rate makes for a more responsive gaming experience.

Storage capacity determines how many things your PC can hold. Documents, photos, music, movies, programs – they all take up space. This laptop blows away any other entry on this list when it comes to processing power, with an eight-core, Intel i9 processor and full 32 GB of RAM. The Area 51 also comes with an NVIDIA RTX 2080, one of the most powerful GPUs from the previous generation of NVIDIA graphics cards. The combination of GPU and processing power means you’ll be able to run any game currently on the market. Display: 15.6” OLED | Screen Resolution: 4k UHD (3840 x 2160) | CPU: 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10750H | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 (Max-Q) | RAM: 16 GB DDR4 | Storage: 512 GB SSD | Battery Life: 5 Hours | Weight: 4.7 lbs / 2.1 kg By default, it comes with a six-core Intel i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA RTX 2070. Combined, they deliver enough power to run most, if not all, current-gen games on high settings. Variations on it can be upgraded to an eight-core processor and an RTX 2080. If you’re looking to save a bit of money, you can cut down to a GTX 1660.
