About this deal

There are many different types of punching bags in the market – speed bags, heavy bags, angled bags, teardrops, and freestanding heavy bags – each model has good and bad sides. Any martial art that would use a regular punching bag, heavy bag, or heavy hanging bag, will work with BOB as well. For example: Karate, Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, Muay Thai, Kung Fu and so on.

Although ideal for training in all martial arts and combat sports, the BOB is invaluable for tactical applications such as Krav Maga and self-defense, including real-world defence training. This boxing bag has a strong steel alloy spring and a solid steel body. The item's height can be adjusted from 5 to 7 feet. When filled with sand or water, the bag weighs about 140 pounds. That thing is highly specialized and will not replace a full bag, but together with a heavy punch bag, it can be a good alternative to Bob.So let's talk about the pros of BOB. First, let me say outright that this is my favorite piece of training equipment. I've got all kinds of heavy bags and water bags all types of different punching bags. This is the go-to bag that I use the most. And I think it's because it's soft, which makes it easy on the joints it's realistic, and I don't know, there's just something I like about working out with him. A second pro with bob is that he's great at using angle shots. So many of the strikes that I use whether they're palm heels that come up or hammer fish that come down, or even uppercuts are all really difficult to practice on a regular heavy bag because it's just vertical. But you've got all these great angles with bob and is very realistic, so you can practice all of those. I recommend that you choose your equipment according to your skills and goals. A Dummy is great to visualize where you hit your opponent, to workout technique and speed, but not so good to hit it very hard. A Standing Bag is for beginners who just want to have some fun. A Hanging Bag is for people who really want to develop their fighting skills. There are various color options available that will allow you to choose something that fits in with your style. What I loved here is the realistic feel that the stance gives you. It makes teaching correct techniques a lot easier.

The base, a product of polyethylene, sustains up to 270lbs of either sand or water. I mention the differences in a video here . As a result, the overall resistance and stability offered by BOB are pretty extraordinary. Inflatable bags – very good for fitness workouts, but a bad choice for a beginner who’s trying to build perfect technique and power.

Century’s Body Opponent Bag, or more simply: Bob, is probably the most famous training dummy in the world. Everyone’s seen this dummy at least once, as it’s used primarily with self-defense courses. Century Martial Arts were founded in 1976, in a garage, like a lot of businesses. Bob is yet another quality dummy made by this manufacturer, and it’s considered to be ideal for self-defense practice by most tutors. Grappling dummy works well for submission specialists or ground-and-pound phenoms in the MMA world. You can change positions, hit from different angles, work on various aspects of your game, improve your transitions, and control time… For example, a fighter who attempted an armbar on a dummy 5,000 times won’t think about what to do when his opponent stays in full guard on top of him for too long. As one of the customers has said: “Have anger issues? Get BOB. Have anxiety? Get BOB. Feeling destructive? Get BOB...”. He has also noted that the device has helped him to fall asleep and feel better as well as restrain himself. While ancient lifelike opponent bags had their place in the Martial Arts, modern BOB is state-of-the-art

Even Slam man could tell you where and when to throw a punch thanks to its winking indicators, and Bob will never turn an inexperienced rookie into a super fighter without the help of a coach. And you can safely put an equal sign between the other free-standing punching bags and Bob. The shape is similar (though without a body relief), disadvantages are almost the same, and most importantly – the purpose is absolutely the same. Body opponent bag – a true punching dummy bag that mimics the feel and shape of the human body. It is way more expensive due to its high-quality and realistic feeling. The BOB gives you the most realistic and personal training experience possible. Its freestanding design is the upper half of a male human body, from head to torso, minus the limbs. Bob’s face is menacing yet tangibly soft and overall is herculean and chiseled. The BOB dummy mimics human traits to enhance the naturalness of its anatomy and structure. The cowhide exterior is the best, but it requires maintenance, and it’s expensive. The best alternative is vinyl which is a durable material, cheaper, and easy to clean. How much is a fighting dummy? BOB is ideal for training in just about all standing martial arts! Any martial art that would use a regular punching bag, heavy bag, or heavy hanging bag, will work with BOB as well. Karate? Sure! Taekwondo? Of course! Tang soo do, muay thai, kung fu? You bet! And if you train a martial art with tactical applications, like krav maga or jeet kune do, then you’ll really notice the value of BOB. You can practice strikes that are not competition legal, like slaps, palm heel hooks, eye jabs, and more.Grappling dummies are used to simulate an opponent for grappling martial arts training and general striking training and sparring. They are portable and easy to store, but for boxing punches, they aren’t the best. The used materials Century Bob Body: Bob is supplied with the instructions for use only. There are also a lot of DVDs showing you how to use martial arts techniques, but to enhance the results, you should consider some training with a real instructor. Top three alternatives to BOB

Stuff I don’t like

You’ll need to invest in some bag mitts as the head especially will definitely hurt your hands with it’s plasticy kind of feel. This is a good thing as it’s definitely going to last. But unless you’re a serious hard case, definitely get some bag mits.
