About this deal

Wonderful colour pictures of the food (and the authors very cute daughter). Easy to follow instructions. I also loved the authors notes for each recipe. Like which buns to buy. Freezing instructions and prepping ahead.

Directions are easy to follow and start with a paragraph or two about why they developed the recipe.Thank you to @netgalley, publisher and the author for gifting me this free ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. I choose this book for a few different reasons. The first reason is because of the title. I have a toddler so the idea of no fuss family meals sounded great to me. The second reason is because I recognized the author. Add the gnocchi, mix well and continue to simmer on low for another 7–8 minutes until the gnocchi is cooked through.

Add the roasted red peppers, garlic, oregano and a little salt and pepper to a blender and blitz until smooth. Affogato & Kiddies’ Affogato from The Fuss Free Cookbook by Ciara Attwell (Lagom) Affogato & Kiddies’ AffogatoCelebrity chef, Ryan Scott, is the author of The No-Fuss Family Cookbook: Simple Recipes for Everyday Life, a cookbook filled with fairly simple recipes that are suitable for families. This cookbook has all the elements of an excellent cookbook: easy recipes, ingredients that most of us have in our pantry and freezer, beautiful photographs (mostly of the dishes, but an extra dose of pictures of his daughter; he obviously thinks she’s adorable and more interesting than the food), and notes at the beginning of each recipe that give explanations. Upgrade basic crumpets to a more exciting breakfast! These are great to serve up to children who don’t usually eat eggs. Five stars, we'll be revisiting this cookbook. For families with young children or toddlers, this one will be especially welcome. There's a lot of appealing finger and bite sized food here.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***Some of the recipes are a bit complex and take longer for non-experienced cooks to make than listed in the recipes. This classic Italian dessert is perfect for days when you fancy a sweet treat after dinner, but don’t want to spend a lot of time cooking. The kid-friendly version uses hot chocolate rather than coffee. Younger children may find this easier if you separate the items out on their plate and cut the tortillas into triangles. The book has a simple layout and there are quite a few images to accompany the recipes. Ryan takes traditional family meals and turns them up a notch with flavour and healthy alternatives. There are also lots of notes included to give readers tips on how to achieve the best results. All in all, very well written, beautifully presented food, made from family friendly ingredients which are easily sourced and taste good.
