About this deal

Lucille is a notorious weapon in The Walking Dead. She is seen killing many people and walkers. It is also suggested that she kills many more as Negan uses her as his main weapon throughout the series.

That is the end of one of the most notorious television weapons ever created. She is given one of the most intense character introductions in television history and then left alone in a field as her owner is dragged to a cell. It is a peaceful end to a weapon that was used to hurt so many and not quite the end for her owner. Our first introduction to Lucille is when Negan brutally beats two people to death with her. This left a lasting impression on audiences of both what Negan was capable of and what Lucille was used for. In the last episode of season six, we meet Lucille and see exactly what she and Negan are capable of. After the introduction of Lucille audiences desperately wanted to know the meaning behind her name. As more people died at the end of this barbed wire covered bat, interest only grew. Why did a bat that was used so viciously have such a normal name? Negan is resistant at first but ends up admitting that his biggest regret is the way he treated his wife, Lucille, before the apocalypse. Lucille was Negan’s first wife who died of cancer right as the end of the world began. He named his bat in honor of her.The bikers are now beating Franklin up in a bid to find out where “the good stuff is”. Outside the bar, a noticeably changed Negan clubs one of the bikers to death with Lucille and shoots another. A shoot-out ensues, allowing Franklin to free himself as Negan forces his way into the bar. Shoe now firmly on the other foot, Negan tells the now-restrained gang leader that he’s “got some stuff to get off my chest” and “this time, you best hope I never stop talking – cos when I do, something bad is going to happen”. The last time we see Lucille is the end of season eight. At the end of season eight, we see Lucille left behind as Negan is dragged to prison. She is left alone in a field and never seen again on the television show. Negan (full name in the television series: Negan Smith) is a fictional character in the comic book series The Walking Dead and in the television series of the same name. He was the leader of the Saviors, a group of survivors in the Sanctuary that oppresses other survivor communities and forces them to pay tribute to him. In the comics, the character's appearance is based on Henry Rollins, as confirmed by Charlie Adlard. [1] Jeffrey Dean Morgan portrays Negan in the television series, having first appeared in the sixth-season finale. [2] Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan [and his bat Lucille] in ‘The Walking Dead’. Though Negan is Lucille’s owner and the person she is seen with the most, there are other people who get the honor of holding Lucille throughout the series. The number changes depending on whether you are following the comic book or the television series. It remains a small number either way. As of now, the theories on who Negan will kill in the finale are running rampant on the Internet. Some even speculate that fans won't find out Negan's victim until the Season 7 premier, and for good reason. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, comic book creator and series's executive producer Robert Kirkman said "it's entirely possible there's going to be a painful summer for Walking Dead fans." Then again, the pain may stem from seeing one of their favorite characters die at the hands of Negan. After being exiled, Negan sits drinking heavily by the fire when he hallucinates a younger version of himself sitting in a chair holding Lucille. The younger Negan taunts him about how Negan believed that the people in Alexandria would ever see him differently than who he truly is, the younger version of himself that had been the brutal leader of the Saviors. Negan calls his younger self a clown and "a cult of personality with no cult." The younger Negan reminds his older self that he had gotten a lot further as Negan, leader of the Saviors, than he's gotten just by being a good person. "It's time to face the facts old man: you are nothing without her." gesturing to the bat. Enraged, Negan tosses his glass at the chair, shattering the glass and causing the hallucination to disappear. Lucille is named after Negan’s dead wife who he views as a reason he used to be weak. That adds to Lucille’s history and importance to Negan. The way that Negan reacts when he learns he will not see Lucille again is more emotion than we see from him throughout the entire show letting us know that he feels helpless without his beloved bat.

[7] He made his television debut in the sixth-season finale. Several years after the end of The Walking Dead, Maggie seeks out the help of Negan, revealing that Hershel has been kidnapped and taken to a walker-infested Manhattan by a man known only as the Croat. In the years since the defeat of Pamela Milton and Lance Hornsby, Maggie has been forced to abandon the original Hilltop due to the damage from the Whisperers ultimately being too severe to repair, instead relocating the community to a rural factory complex in either New York or New Jersey. This new Hilltop was raided by the Croat who Maggie had recognized as a former Savior from his use of Savior tactics and, in particular, the whistle that the Saviors had used to intimidate their victims. The two agree to a deal where Maggie will allow Negan's young companion Ginny to live at the Hilltop in exchange for his help. In the intervening years, Negan has returned to many of his old ways while an unknown fate has befallen Annie and his child. Negan is being hunted by marshals from the New Babylon Federation for supposedly committing five murders, but Negan himself states that things didn't go as the marshals claim that they did. While fighting walkers with a baseball bat and later while reading a book on baseball to Judith, Michonne is reminded of Lucille. At the same time, Negan reaches out to Michonne in an effort to manipulate her into letting him see Lucille. Michonne eventually sees through Negan's efforts and tells him that they don't have Lucille and that the bat is "still out there," having presumably been abandoned by the Militia following Negan's defeat. The camp's sadistic warden (Michael Weaver) singles Negan out for his harshest abuse, determined to break him and use him to keep the other prisoners in line, but Negan remains defiant and makes an uneasy alliance with Ezekiel to plan an escape. The warden foils the escape attempt, however, and lines up Negan, Ezekiel, and Annie to be executed via firing squad. At the last moment, Negan and Ezekiel manage to convince the soldiers not to let the warden turn them into murderers, and they turn on their hated boss. Maggie, Gabriel, and Rosita then arrive to free them. Fast-forwarding again to the bar interrogation, the biker gang leader demands that Negan tells them where the doctors are. He gives in and circles where they are on a map, and the gang goes after them: Negan is later freed after his intel proves to be correct, leaving him consumed with guilt at selling the doctors out. Negan explains how they will get inside, using Lucille and walker guts on each other. Negan grabs the walker and pulls it toward him, but Gabriel won't leave until he confesses his sins.
