About this deal

Firstly, the book was a bit boring; the parts that should be exciting are rushed, the characters and dialogue are generally uninspired. If “eye dialect” is a pet peeve, you’ll also find the book annoying (LOTS of ‘aye,’ ‘didnae,’ and ‘wouldnae’). The Campbells were staying with the MacDonalds, and after a week of apparent friendship, at 5am the Campbells turned on their hosts and massacred them. I love kilted heroes, chai lattes, and eating buttered air-popped popcorn for dinner on Friday nights (my dog loves this one too).

Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill one another. To him was given a large sword. Colonel Sir Archibald David Stirling was a 6ft 6in Scottish aristocrat and mountaineer who believed small teams of highly-trained raiders could inflict more damage than entire platoons, and founded the Special Air Service (SAS) in 1941. Riding shotgun on adapted US Jeeps armed with machine guns from planes, Stirling’s SAS stormed Rommel’s airbases at night, destroying 250 aircraft, hundreds of vehicles, supply dumps and railway communications in 15 months. Eventually captured, he was held in Colditz. Field Marshal Montgomery said he was ‘mad, quite mad’. I dinnae need sweet words. I dinnae need flatteries, poetry, song, or gifts. I just need ye to tell me every now and again that ye love me." p.348, loc.4252 I really only have two itsy-bitsy issues with this book. One was that Clenney doesn't recap anything, so I found myself a little lost at time, I would definitely recommend you reread the first two if you want to feel as lost as Travis does. The second was that the romance was a little dulled, it wasn't bad and I didn't feel like the characters were mismatched, I just felt like there could have been more. Most the intimate interactions between Travis and Anne where short and at times a little dispassionate. But I still loved them. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It has everything you could want in a book, sexy highlanders, strong women (mentally and physically), love, passion, suspense, and good against evil. Anita has wrote another wonderful book, that held my interest right up to the very end! His mother has sorted the arranged marriage with her father and the heroine's clan need the protection the marriage will bring. Soon Gabrielle begins to see through his wife’s mask and starts feeling of desire. Of course Magdalene is having feelings as well though she tries to deny it. Plus there is this wee curse that has been in Gabrielle’s family for generations and his cruel brother-in-law. As Magdalene’s life is in comp!lete danger will her husband safe her or will it be another loss in his unfortunate life. Read and find out if these two get a happily ever after! I get times were different but repeatedly telling your bride to be that you aren't going to marry her as she isn't your usual type of woman especially as she can't take the 'pounding' you like to give is just not the height of romance.Heart of a Highland Warrior is the third book in the Highland Warrior Series by Anita Clenney. I waited patiently for this book, and when I finally got it on my Kindle, I read it in two nights. Well, it was almost one, but I had to quit when the words started to blur. If you haven't read any of the previous books in the series, I would suggest you start with the first book, Awaken the Highland Warrior. If you start with this one first, you may be a little lost. Now on to my review. First off, what is up with the horses? They just care so much about the horses, which is not a bad thing, but I just found it a weird quirk of the books and it made the books unique in their own sense. This has all the halmarks of a Donna Fletcher read, and because that's what I wanted, it makes sense that I'm happy with what I got! The most iconic Scottish soldier of all, Sir William Wallace was a knight who became one of the first leaders of the Wars of Scottish Independence 700 years ago. He famously led the Scots to victory over a larger and technologically superior English army at the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297, then became Guardian of Scotland until his defeat at the Battle of Falkirk in 1305. Wallace was then captured, handed to the English king, Edward Longshanks, and hung, drawn and quartered for high treason. Tavia of the Clan Strathearn is not only petite and quiet, accustomed to being a dutiful daughter, but an accident has left her with a limp that hampers certain activities. She is not happy about the arranged marriage to Lord Bhric. He is part Northmen, having been raised in a distant land with what many believe are savages. But she has no choice, her marriage will benefit her needy clan. She tells herself she has the strength to do this. She will make it a good marriage. She will not be frightened of her new husband… until she meets him.
