About this deal

Finally, it can't get very bright in HDR and has disappointing HDR color volume, so HDR content looks dull. Nonetheless, these different Hisense TVs have commonalities, too – they're all smart TVs with 4K picture resolution, while some sets come with more advanced features like ALLM, VRR, and 8K.

Dark scenes are over-brightened, and everything above about 30 cd/m² is way too dark, as the TV rolls the peak brightness off to try and preserve details. We aim to offer the best service possible to people in the trade or who are competent enough to repair their own products. We uploaded the initial brightness measurements and uniformity photos for the Accelerated Longevity Test. On the plus side, the VA panel delivers a contrast ratio of 2,400:1, which is reasonable for an LCD display.modifying our Contrast testing and splitting our local dimming testing into multiple sections covering Blooming, Black Crush, and Lighting Zone Transitions.

The 50-inch model is slightly different, as it uses a different panel type from the 65-inch we've tested. The Samsung has a much higher contrast ratio, so blacks look black instead of gray in a dark room, and it has much better black uniformity. It has very good coverage of the more commonly used DCI-P3 color space but can't display the full range of reds or greens. We uploaded the brightness measurements and uniformity photos after running the TV for four months in our Accelerated Longevity Test. If you need advice on your faulty product please feel free to ask, we will be more than happy to advise you.

Other benefits include two voice assistants (Alexa and Google Assistant) and Hisense's own VIDAA U6 Smart TV OS. This TV doesn't have a local dimming feature, so it can't adjust the backlight of individual zones to brighten up highlights without impacting the rest of the image. The Hisense has a much wider viewing angle, so it’s the better choice for watching TV in a group setting. It delivers impressively accurate performance while watching SDR content and the Dolby Vision images are precisely rendered despite the panel’s inherent weaknesses. The Samsung has a much higher contrast ratio, resulting in deeper blacks in a dark room and better uniformity. It has decent reflection handling, but due to its poor peak brightness, it's not well-suited for bright viewing environments. Personalised, intuitive and smart, switch effortlessly between all of your favourite entertainment and built-in apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and Freeview Play.

All the buttons are present and correct, including direct access to Netflix, YouTube, Rakuten TV, Prime Video and Freeview Play. VIDAA U5 An easy, smart and intuitive OS, simply access to rich contents and global applications (Youtube, Netflix and Freeview Play etc. The Hisense A65H is an okay budget TV, but it has limited features and disappointing picture quality, especially if you're in a dark room. The TV's remote is pretty simple, with no number buttons and six sponsored buttons that vary between regions. Sadly, like most TVs with 60Hz panels, it can't remove judder from 60Hz sources like most cable boxes. It allows HDR content to be mapped more precisely to the display’s capabilities, and watching exactly the same test material in Dolby Vision reveals HDR images free of any clipping and with saturated but natural-looking colours. When you couple that with frequent sales, if what you’re looking for is a really cheap TV that’s still relatively modern in terms of specs and features, Hisense is almost always a brand worth considering. The TCL has a much wider color gamut thanks to its PFS Phosphor coating, so HDR content looks more vivid and realistic, whereas the Hisense looks dull.
